Just buy Nittos ... my 37" Trail Grappers have a couple ounces each (on Hutchison beadlocks). my wife's 37" Ridge Grappers on KMC 231s were perfectly drivable without balancing.

White Letters Out will fix this! BFG's we're made for this, they look so good with the raised white lettering :) In all seriousness I've always ran BFG's except one time I was poor and went with some Hankooks. I've always had great balancing on BFG's with little weights, but I've never ran 37s. I've found the BFG quality to always be top notch. Good looking rig btw!

I had a new BFG KO2 285 70. 17 that req 16 oz to balance. Tire guy sent it back as defective. They use road force balancing. Mine have 30k on them and I havent noticed them being slippery in snow or rain.
i might go Toyo AT III next because they make a C load rated in 285 75 17.

Had BFGs on two of my cars, considering them for another and yes - RWL out.

These aren't BFG but if I went that way next time around, it would be RWL, letters out. I personally like the look and that's all that counts in the end.

If you offroad, white letters out can turn into white scrub marks out.

Otherwise a fun look.

Great point.

My off-roading would likely be in wooded areas, mud, sand, no big boulders. (My sister-in-law wants to go fishing down in the river bottoms about 4 or 5 miles from me - I've been tempted to take that old dirt road hardly ever traveled and see just where it ends up down there)

But for others - it's a call they have to make for sure.

KM3 39x13.5x17 just took a tad of weight to get right. They rotated tire on rim several times. Will be replacing this tire for sure.

Follow up, Discount tire wanted to charge me a pro rated rate of $121.00 to replace tire with only 2,7

Follow up: Discount Tire wanted to charge me a pro rated amount of $121.00 to replace tire that had only 2,800 miles on it and with a 16/32 tread depth. New is 18/32. With some conversation the manager waived the $121.00 charge. I feel that I was treated very fairly by them however, quite disappointed in BFG for not standing behind their $747.00 tire better than that. Just a note: Discount would have replaced it with-in 30 days from purchase or if I had purchased the replacement Certs. I just blew off the wobble I was getting from an unbalanced tire as a “Normal Jeep thing” So maybe I should have rotated the wobble tire to rear to verify it was a normal thing. Lesson learned. Thank you “Discount Tire” I will continue to purchase my tires from you.

Yikes. And i thought the 4 ounces needed to balance my Baja Boss AT was a lot. Id be wondering if the wheel might be out of balance.

They checked the wheel the last time it was in and added all the weights

My apologies for for the inconvenience and the additional efforts you had to put forth in getting this resolved. I'm glad to hear the store made it right and got you taken care of - your support is greatly appreciated!

Just had a set of 37x12.50R17 KO2’s installed (5) on my stock Rubicon wheels. The best of the 5 required 3.5 oz to balance… the worst, 13.5 oz. Those were the two extremes. I believe the other three were like 8, 12 & 12 oz. These weights seemed excessive to me, but full disclosure - this is my first set of 37’s. Production dates on all the tires were mid 2022.

These tires replaced a set of 315/70R17 Toyo R/Ts. I want to say the worst of that set took around 7-8 oz. These were installed at a reputable tire shop; the guys working on it seemed to think this was a move in the wrong direction (quality wise) as they claim that BFG quality has really fallen off in the past 5-6 years.

Just wondering what others experiences may have been with these or other 37’s.

Just out of curiosity, do you have spacers?

Been running BFG ATs since they came out in the 70s on my DDs. Never had an issue with one . All were 31-37s 15-20" and were driven 55-85 mph daily . Great for everything but mud which is understandable and naturally without studs ice is an issue for any tire.
