I’ve been on the fence on whether or not I need a dash cam for about two months. I recently discovered yesterday the black view now has a dash cam that uses a new Sony chip for better image processing and I think I’m gonna go with the black because that’s what I wanted before.

here’s the one I’m looking at
Jeep Gladiator Blackvue dash cam questions IMG_9402

I am looking to wire it to an always hot connection so that it will record while parked. I do not have auxiliary switches so if you have any suggestions on how to wire that I would appreciate it.

I am familiar with wiring things just unfamiliar with what is always in this gladiator.

Have you guys had any luck with just the 64 GB card or do you think a bigger card is recommended?

can the app disable gps tracking?
I just need video.

And finally, would you guys say that overall blackvue is highly recommended the app is good no real problems. I want to install this and forget about it. I don’t wanna have to constantly mess with it.

If you have the automatic transmission, there is a plastic plug in the firewall for the clutch linkage that can be used to run a hot wire through.

I get the largest capacity memory card the device will support. It's easier to do it now than to upgrade later when you want more storage days. Get a heavy-duty card designed for extreme use.

I ended up ordering the one I showed above. Watching a few more videos it’s really clear to see plates and small details.

what memory card brand is good for heavy use? It supports up to 256gb cards. Comes with a 64, and they wanted like another 60$ for the big card. I’d bet I can find one cheaper lol.

I do have the 8speed auto.
it comes with premade fuse taps so that part is easy. Just which one is always hot…

This seems to be the replacement/newer version of the one I've been running for many years. Took me a few tries to find one that could handle the constant re-writes from a dash cam, and Lexar has been the stand-out solution for me.
