Just a few quick notes on the addition of an outlet up front on a sport (Willys in my case) bumper. The plug, from the factory, is routed on the passenger’s side but I keep my glady in our car port and wanted it on the drivers side. I had bookmarked this outlet based on a thread I stumbled upon while back.
Took the bumper off entirely, about 30 mins of work taking my time while using various aftermarket bumper install instructions. I then separated the inner stamped sheet metal. Rather than unwrap the plastic cover, I opted this route as it provided all the access I need to work and make the cuts. Used my dremel with a 1/8” cutting bit. Took about 2 hours total.
This outlet included 6’ of cable which allowed me to easily reach the passenger side (along bottom of bumper) easily. We are already seeing mornings in the teens.
I have the cable running back to a smart plug adapter ($15 on Amazon) which allows me to schedule and or set via inching, no matter then I turn it on, it shuts down X minutes afterwards from my phone. Works over local WiFi, no cloud/big-brother b.s.
