The reason you have to buy a different bolt is the OEM installed bolt has a square shoulder all the way through the OEM steering stabilizer. The replacement bolt only has the square shoulder about 1/8” (to allow it to be captured during tightening). The rest of the bolt is round.
I have a 24 Rubicon X.

I comes with a new Bolt. He doesn't have to buy one. I just installed this a week ago

Mine didn’t have that new bolt. But I got it from Amazon (old stock?) and it was $100 cheaper. So a $5 bolt was a deal for me.
It works great, I’ll say that much. It was just a bling add on for me as I’m not racing through a course or open desert.
