I installed some longer brake lines and need to add brake fluid and bleed as usual. Not 100% sure on brake fluid, can i pour in synthetic? I know the owners manual says it should be dot 3. It seems like the majority of brake fluids in the stores are synthetic…………but what is in the jeep at present??? Thanks for your help.

Brake fluid is basically all synthetic. The stuff labeled synthetic has a higher boiling point.
But the base for synthetic and non-synthetic is the same is not found in nature, it's man made.

As long as it is DOT 3 it should be compatible.

UPDATE on December 13, 2024:
Prestone has two Gladiator listings on their product finder:

In order of appearance:
"Gladiator 6 Cylinder 3.6 Liters": Two brake fluid results on product finder (no comment on how diesel got left out)
- Prestone MAX DOT 3 Brake Fluid ("best choice")
- Prestone DOT 3 Brake Fluid
"Gladiator": No brake fluid results on product finder

I am leaving my (slightly edited) original post below because Prestone needs to know about this apparent oversight.

Original post below (with year/make/model changed to: 2020 Jeep Gladiator):

I am going to stick with MOPAR DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid (part number 04318080AD).

Prestone synthetic brake fluid is compliant with DOT 3 and SAE J1703, but 1) there is no mention of manufacturer specification MS.4574 on the Prestone label or on their website, and 2) no brake fluid options are shown for 2020 Jeep Gladiator on the Prestone product finder.

For complete details, see " Notes on Prestone brake fluid compliance" in section 4.1 of my post on fluids & filters for a Gladiator.
