I’ll have to check with dealer. If it’s normal, then I’ll deal. Is your new one making similar noises? Again, it makes it when the Jeep is warmed up.

Yes, similar noise. Slightly different sound/pitch though. Same 3 seconds though. Happens when the Jeep is cold or warmed up.

I've noticed mine cycling if I'm going through a drive-thru. It does seem more noticeable than the pump on my Canyon was but being a DI engine it was quite a bit louder so probably just covered the pump noise up. With the JL/JT chassis being such a new design I'm surprised they didn't just go with an electric brake booster and get rid of the vacuum assist.

It doesn't cycle. It only activates when you either press or release the brake pedal.

I could have sworn mine was cycling yesterday afternoon while I was holding my foot on the brake. It wasn't a fast cycle or anything. Seemed like a few seconds on, a few minutes off, a few seconds on. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention to it coinciding with me moving my foot, I'll have to pay closer attention next time.

Even the slightest variation of pressure on the pedal causes it to go off. Best way to determine if it cycles is putting the vehicle in park and simply keeping your foot off the brake completely.

I've left mine idling some and never noticed it but I'd assume the engine can provide enough vacuum to satisfy whatever the set point is at park idle and the brakes not being touched.

Mine only cycles when pressing and or releasing brake pedal. Guessing it might be normal. Next time I swing by the dealer, I will let them check it out. Too busy, but keeping it on my list...lol. Thanks again.

Just ask them to start up another JT or JL and press the brake after things get started/settled. You can hear it even next to a busy road

Not too add to an old thread, but drove my Gladiator the past few days and it seems it makes the same hissing noise, but once the Jeep is warmed up. If I lower the window and the truck is in an enclosed space you can hear it when you press and release brake pedal. Its pretty loud. I’m going to contact the local dealer here and get it checked out when I have some time.
Hi Paul,
Please feel free to follow up with us via PM if assistance is needed throughout your dealer visit.

Noticed mine did the same thing at the drive through today.
A loud hissing/venting sound when I pushed on the brake and again when I let off. Thought I had air brakes for a minute.
Going to call the dealer in the morning to get this addressed

it is normal. If you don’t believe me go to the dealer and start up any JL or JT, have the salesman push on the brake and let off, while you stand outside. It can easily be heard, but better if parked next to a wall
