Reading these horror stories makes me happy that the GenRight don't use the body bolts but are still frame mounted. Drill your own holes.

Did you get this fixed? Were you able to get this covered under warranty?
I was able to get mine fixed under warranty. You have to find a good dealer that knows about the issue. I went to Arizona. Moore Chrysler

totally managed to bust my driver's side rear bolt this past weekend :( didnt see the advice of heating up the bolts first, the other 5 were easy..enough.
Leaving this here. Heat is your friend when removing the body mount bolts

Unfortunately my dealer is apparently a butthead and not a real jeep friendly dealer. When they discovered my skid plates had some scratches and dirt they called me and were like " you obviously taken this offroad and jeep won't cover the bolts now" didn't want to call them incompetent and say "what did you expect from a jeep??" But I did get it fixed(not under warranty since they later could also tell I have removed and scratched the other bolts up) not a cheap fix! Hmmm this may be against some kind of rule but I highly recommend against Gillman jeep/dodge in Houston. Overall pretty shady even when I had purchased another car from them it was shady(but they had the best raw deal so I went thru anyway)

AggieGladiator, What did you end up paying for this if you don't mind me asking? I broke front passenger yesterday. Would be great if covered under warranty, but would like to get an estimate of what folks have paid for this.

Mine was the rear driver side and the cost was $1,500 if I remember correctly. My wallet is still very sensitive about this subject. They had to remove my truck bed. If it's in the front it may be much easier?

If you broke one of yours, you have two things that might save you if you haven't done them already.

1. Did you remove the other body bolts before that one or was it the first? Partial reason they denied my warranty was they could see the wrench marks on the other 5 bolts and could tell I removed them.

2. Have you been offroading yet? If so are your skid plates scratched up? This one is a BS reason since this is a freaking jeep and are given skid plates for a reason but my dealer was terrible and since they had me on the wrench thing I didn't even bother fighting the offroad part.

Really hope you have a better outcome than I did. Try to find a jeep shop nearby as they are probably more likely to able to fix it without trying to bend you over the table. My truck had less than 8,000 so I thought I could play the " it's a new truck and it just broke off one day" card. If I had to do it over id let an experienced jeep shop give their hand at it first and if they can't fix then take dealer route.

Thanks for the response. Actually, it was basically my last bolt to tighten, of course. I have not had it off-road yet. I wanted to get a few things added before I beat the crap out of it. It barely has 2,000 miles.

I think I'll take to dealer and get an estimate before approving anything. Truly is B.S. that body mount bolt broke that easily. I was using my torque wrench when it snapped off.

I managed to break my body bolt with with HAND TOOLS, using a standard long handled wrench. I am by no means a big dude, so it was comprised in some way before i got to it.

with a torque wrench you may not have scratched up the heads like i did so it may not be as obvious you messed with them.

In your situation you may want to try the dealership and see how it goes, your situation sounds like they may cover it..good luck! if you can find a dealership that doesnt suck moose peter you may have more luck.

^^ 1500 to replace the body bolt my god i think i would be done with the jeep after that ?
yeah it was definitely a punch in the gut, but being the first big expensive "aw Sh*t" moment ive had in my 10 years working on cars, I just sucked it up,had it fixed right(at the dealer with Jeep/MOPAR parts in case something breaks later they cant blame it on me) and then hoped this is like a pig flying, in that it only happens when the stars align and some crazy sh*t happens

Well, I was able to get repaired under warranty. I had taken my wife's Grand Cherokee in for a noise coming from dash when running A/C. When I went to pick it up I thought I'd leave my Gladiator there to see what they can do about the broken bolt. While he was ringing me up on my wife's car, he mentioned that I would be getting a survey in the mail on their service and anything under a rating of 10 is considered them not doing their job. So I said, well it depends on what you can do about my broken bolt.

He reported as a rattling noise underneath and they approved the repair under warranty.

Guess he will be getting all 10's from me on the surveys coming forth.

Are people having the same issue with body mount bolts snapping due to red loctite like on the JLs when installing their rock sliders?
I almost broke mine and i didnt even need to remove it (forward passenger). Luckily it went back in and acted normal. I was sweating bullets.

WOW! Lots of scary stories about removing the body mount bolts. I have used a breaker bar to loosen all 6 then ratcheted them down/out using downward pressure. I have one last bolt that keeps spinning - the driver side middle. Giving it a break, but I'm out of ideas. How much down pressure is needed?

So I used a claw hammer to apply more downward pressure than I could by hand and it did come out after a few tries.

literally just broke mine today...forward passenger side, but somehow mine was on the install, not removal...dont really know what to do now
the fix is cutting into the wheel well and then welding it back up with a real bolt not that bs that jeep puts in. It happened to my wrangler jl and we replaced it with a steel bolt and washer.
