Saw a nice looking Bronco Raptor with an interesting step attached to it's rock rails. Sure, there is the kind of discreet Raptor label cast into the step, but what was interesting is that it appeared to be bolted onto the rock rails with large tech screws. They were metal with a heavy ripple paint or pebble paint coating. First thing that popped into my head was, is there something like this for the JT? The Raptor msrp was about $65K, but the dealership was asking about $125K. The build quality of the step made it look worth $1000 or more.

I was dropping off my F350 for some work, but plan to go back with a measuring tape and a sketch of the rock rails on the JT. Meanwhile, has anyone looked into this?

The step is removeable and leaves the rock rail behind for protection. It comes off with 6 bolts per side. Someone suggested replacing the bolts with Torx head to help deter theft.

So who makes them?

Not sure on that specific one but I have GoRhino RB20s in the bedliner finish which is a Raptor style step which I prefer. Not a rock rail per se, but I've put hella use to them off road and theyve held up fine. In any case they have an option for a drop down step which can add to them. I don't prefer it myself, but just saying.

I know thats not neccesarily what you referenced but may be helpful if exploring similar options.

There’s a company that’s made some removable steps for the factory rock rails, I believe they’re working on the full length ones too like on the bronco.

Archetype Racing. Pretty expensive too

You ain't shitting on the expensive part. Just looked them up and about $500 for the two door setup and close to $1000 for the 4 door.

Cheaper than the rock slide option. I think they're pushing close to 3K!
