Are you sure you are not a high functioning Gorilla?

Only the Rubicon/Mojave models have rivnuts on those frame horns for the factory metal skid plate brackets. Other models they are not usually there.
He must be referring to something like the ones with red lines pointing to them - the ones in green are what you mentioned and come only with the steel skid plate option.
Ones pointed to with red are there even on Overland. (maybe the top one isn't a rivnut, can't remember)

My new bulldog winch plate uses those upper bolt areas to secure the rear/sides of the plate. You remove the factory (gray) bolts and the winch plate is secured there (bottom pic)

nope I am referring to the ones you circled in green. Warn actually says to remove and not reuse (throw away) the ones circled in red. I reused them anyway as it adds strength and the fit was fine.

the winch plate L bracket and lower skid both tie into to the bolts circled in green. Warn does not even acknowledge the rivetnuts there. Thats what I stripped right around 23 lb ft, and need to drill out. I am debating just drilling out all the rivet nuts, and using grade 8 hardware for those 4 and the 4 carriage bolts that tie the bumper winch plate to the L brackets.
