This. Much safer in a collision with 40s. Prius gets crushed and not stuck in grill.
Update:
I’ve now put a few nails off to the side of my driveway out of the way where only I know where they are. I use that route daily in the hopes of running one over with the wife.

“oh damn! I can’t replace a single tire because of the wear pattern, THINK OF THE CHILDREN! Gotta order 4 new ones out of an abundance of caution.”

And no. I have zero issues with costing myself a little extra money to get what I want amicably.

I resemble that remark... except for the tree... (they are more of a bush...)

Ha! I see it a lot in my industry.

“The crew elected to divert to XYZ out of an abundance of caution.”

No Karen, they elected to divert because they had one engine. And it was on fire.

That’s why I didn’t purchase DV8 rock skins, made in China apparently & too many people complaining about Rust after a short time or even on arrival.

Not that it stops me from “upgrading” my truck, but man- everything I order seems to be JUNK.

Wish more companies could be like my gorhino steps with bedliner finish. They costs a few $$ more than the usual suspects, but look like they are as solid as the work you’d expect from linex etc.

Or- the stuff I’ve gotten from motobilt. They come raw, but the build quality is top notch. Then I can be in charge of the finish and how good id like it to be.
I cussed GoRhino for 30 minutes while I was installing my steps, as I hadn’t been sent the proper instructions and was so lost looking for parts that didn’t exist in my install kit or researching mounts and brackets I was holding in my hand but that weren’t pictured. ? but damn I do love the steps and they seem like they’ll hold up well!

I’ve got one of those eBay OEM steel bumpers. I can’t call it a knock-off because I’m confident it’s the real deal, but the powder is NOT. It gets damaged easily, showing rust spots. Trying to take it apart to fix it up made it worse since the finish is so delicate. I may be replacing it entirely in a year or two unless I can find a good way to paint it. The paint on the tow hooks turned to chalk. It all looks great from 10+ feet away, but it’s a real mess up close.

Yes I rolled the dice. Not sure I’d do it again, though. I saved probably $700 between the bumper and skid plate so the cosmetics will just have to kind of suck for now.

Side note… Anyone know a good paint match for the steel bumper?

I've had the Arcus on for quite a while now no issues with rusting and I am in and out of the Salt element with it regularly being down here on the gulf coast

I like the Rustoleum Texture Black. It’s in their specialty exterior paints… matched the textured black hardtops, and when you prep properly is really durable. I painted my front bumper a year ago with it, and is doing great!

I used the factory tow hooks. If I want red ones I'd strip and powder coat the ones that came with the bumper if necessary.

My ebay bumper is now powder coated. It has a really tough finish that rivals original and it's still a whole lot cheaper than the MOPAR part.

This bumper was on my 2020 a good 2 years and although it never rusted or showed signs of rust outward, it did show rust inside when I took it apart to remove it from my 2020, where the mounting brackets attached to the main bumper inside the bumper.
I figure with the work and powder coating it's still only a $700-$750 bumper.

Looks a heck of a lot better than mine. How do you go about powder coating and what did it cost you?
