I am trying to chase down a noise on my week old truck. I didn’t notice it on my 2020. Unless I actually had defrost on. It sounds like the slight hiss sound that happens when you have defrost vents going, but its not AC/Defrost related.
On my new truck when I get to 15+ mph I start to hear this constant air hiss noise. It is not rpm dependent. It sounds like how you can hear the defroster vents going if you have them on low. I have nothing turned on at all. It’s not defrost or air condition related from what I can tell. I cant pinpoint the exact location, but I am going to start around the windshield as it appears to be in front of me somewhere in the dash or windshield area from what I can tell. I cant really pinpoint it. I will have to get someone to drive me while i move around and listen to different areas.
I checked the floor plugs under my mats. They are fine and it made no change. It sounds like it’s coming from the dash or trans tunnel area. (I think) What’s weird as when I hit a bump the noise does a small break for a split second.
I can’t really describe the sound unless I am hearing more things now since there is no additional engine cover any more. Or is this a normal rubicon sound as my 2020 was a sport.
While looking earlier at the windshield, i noticed right in the middle under the glass there is a rubber seal. There is a gap on that seal where the two ends meet up. I am wondering if that may be the culprit or if all of them are like that.
