Right now we have this rotating car seat behind the passenger for my 1.5 year old. Plenty of room on the passenger side, I had my 6'4 brother over there when we took a 2hr trip up north. His knees were *just* touching the dash/grab bar.
Imminently, baby #2 is going to be here and that one will be getting your standard car seat behind me. That way I can carry that one into daycare and I can have my toddler walk herself in. We leave the car seat at daycare and my wife just carries baby out and installs it onto the base in her vehicle.
My wife and I brought car seats to a dealer and installed them in a Gladiator, then test drove it just to see how things would fit.
I'm 6'1, 34" inseam, and I can quite comfortably drive with a car seat behind me and I have to work the clutch as well.
Once the toddler is old enough to switch her to forward facing, she'll go behind me, and the baby will go passenger side to buy myself another 2-3" of leg room.
