I'm posting a quick photo of my commo mount. I'm using the quick disconnect mount from quadratec. I mounted my enormous, but great CB to the quick disconnect mount, then mounted my GMRS radio to the CB. Both are powered by tapping into the utility outlet (cigarette lighter) on the dash. Haven't worked out where I want to put the microphones yet but they ride surprisingly well just draped back behind the cupholders. Really like this mount. If you can fog a mirror, you can install this mount. The DW doesn't seem to have any beef with legroom.
Here is the CB antenna mount I bent up for my JLUR, now moved over to my Gladiator. Again, not space shuttle technology. If you can run a drill and bend a piece of aluminum, you can make one of these for about $5 bucks. I DID ground the antenna base to a fender mount bolt under the hood. SWR's are at 1.1 or so.
I mounted my cheapo mag-mount GMRS antenna to my home made roof rack.
Now, because of roof rack interference, I need to move my XM antenna up on top. And the hip Bone's connected to the....knee bone....sigh...
