CB and GMRS Install

I grabbed this guy. So simple it's stupid and works quite well. I'm just using it for a ghost antenna, anything over 3 feet (like my CB antenna) and I'd use something different mounted behind the cab.

I made one of these and it handles the 4-5 foot whips great. It will not handle the Firestick type antennas without a whole lot of flexing on your cowl. Also in this location you can get 3-6 foot antenna wire into the back of the center dash-lower, real clean and easy.

Hmm, I’ve never used a Midland mount and usually go for Laird or Larsen or Maxrad. It could be the set screws on those sit further back on the bottom ridge. Check out my post #10 in this thread showing my current Laird mount I got off eBay for about $20. It sits very flat.

I saw one earlier, but it's been snagged already. The brand isn't always in the listing title. Just gotta find one at the right time. I simply was showing that you can certainly find things if you put in the effort to search. I would think you of all people would appreciate that.

Yes, that's why I said I didn't see any Laird ones for 20 dollars.

Can't find them for $20.

They come and go for various good prices. When I need something like this I check eBay several times a day and will usually get what I want within a week or two.
