Just to make sure this also gets seen, mine is pretty consistent and the dealership here has taken it apart and stuck chassis ears on it all over and driven over 600 miles test driving my truck trying to track the source. According to them the sound is coming out from the pedal, but no idea what's causing it (they have replaced my pedal and cylinders twice with no change).

Also of note lightly pressing on the pedal when the rattle is happening (more than if the pedal is vibrating but not enough to slip the clutch) will stop the rattle.
At least for yours, it’s gotta be the clip that goes onto the pedal off the master cylinder shaft. Sounds dumb, but use a zip tie, or tape, something. Maybe some foam with tape around it and hold that clip still. And see if the noise is gone. When I found one literally just hanging off before it came in, clutch was working by the lucky chance that the master cylinder shaft just ran into the pedal arm, wasent clip in at all, I knew these weren’t perfect back in 2018, I know they’ve changed since, and changed drastically in 2022s.

Depending on what part of PA I might be close. Dealer I’m at is in Swedesboro, I’ll warn you we are BOOKED and loaners are a laughing matter, but always down to do my job lol.
It's no rush for me, so I'm OK with you being booked. I have a couple of spare old VWs to drive, so I'm ok with the loaner situation, if it ends up being a more than one day ordeal. It's worth it to finally figure out what the heck is causing that noise. For me, it only does it on long drives, but you happen to be a long drive away, so it should be primed for you. I'm about 3 hours away, but I think it might be worth it.

The fact that it’s so consistent even after people have had parts replaced would certainly support this being a design issue. I’ll do some poking around the clutch pedal and master cylinder area as suggested to see if I can find anything that’s obviously loose. Because if I could pinpoint the area where the sound seems most focused, it’s the steering column and gauge cluster.

Pretty confident I'm following you but you are talking about making sure this piece is fully attached to the pedal using a zip tie or something to remove any play in the clip?

I poked around on mine today, both under the dash and under the truck. I was unable to find anything that felt loose, including the connection between the pedal arm and master cylinder under the dash. I followed the tube underneath to the transmission and it felt securely restrained with nothing to rattle against. Adding insult to injury it was buzzing afterwards when I drove it, I did confirm that slightly pressing the clutch pedal will make the sound go away. So I think focusing on the pedal and master cylinder interface is the right approach.

I suppose it could even be the master internals not being perfect. But sounds like some people already replaced that with no fix

Yeah, but it makes sense too in a way. If you there’s a design issue with a part or assembly and then you replace it with the exact same parts, then it’s no shock that the problem still exists. We just need to figure out where the problem is and how to fix it.

Just got back from a 2k mile vacation trip on the White Mountains, it’s veryyyyyyyyy intermittent, but I’m part of the club now too??ā€ā™‚. This is what I get for trying to help y’all lol. Can’t find anything loose on a quick check, and everything feels as it did before. Personally it sound more like an interior noise, or directly on the firewall whether that’s inside or exterior idk. Guess the thread and issue lives lol

Well, in some respects, maybe that's good for the rest of us, that someone who is "in" can validate the sound. Good luck! That's the way I am hearing it too.

And you two, maybe others as well, have pretty much ID'd it as not an "engine rattle" which makes a heck of a lot more sense than what a lot were saying earlier.
My wife insisted on driving a fair amount of the trip to FL and back last month and she's not one to easily find the skinny pedal, so we found the thing running really low RPM a lot of times, near lugging as much as you can lug these automatics. Low altitude (like next to the Ocean at Sarasota) to higher elevations through TN and GA, it was one of the most quiet engines and drivetrains I've had. Most of the noise was bug splats.

I have been getting this exact same noise for a while now. I first noticed it when driving up a steep winding road and downshifting. Now it does it while accelerating but very intermittently. I am also getting a lot of clunking noises while shifting. I have an appointment at the dealer on Monday. After reading this I don't have a lot of hope they will find anything.

I think you’ll be SOL on the clunking. Mine has been a little clunky since new. I’ve found that if you are patient with your shifts it will be much smoother and quieter. Ultimately it’s a truck with minimal sound deadening, you hear everything.

I’ve played with a lot of things and still not had any luck with the resonance noise. 91 octane doesn’t help, I clamped an exhaust heat shield underneath that seemed loose and that didn’t help, and can’t find anything that makes any difference.

I think we've demonstrated that it's not detonation............ it's a rattle, not an engine ping, so "octane" won't help. It makes people feel good, but that's about it.
But you are right on what you've said here - minimal sound deadening, thin walls and floors, thin doors, and it's more picky about how it's shifted. You can't handle it like many other sticks of the old days.

I was thinking the clunking was just the normal sound. I notice if I am a little more careful it is quieter but I drive only manual right now and have been for a long time not and the others aren't as noisy. I am not too worried but I am going to have the dealer look at it. I agree the chatter noise is a vibration and I was kinda glad to hear I am not the only one getting it. I need to look at the forum more often.
My bigger issue and really why I am bringing it in is the ESS showing not ready and charging all the time. I went in for an oil change a while ago and they said it was because I don't drive enough. I went on a 2 week, 3000 mile trip and it is still charging so I don't believe the not driving enough excuse. I shall see what they say.
