Thanks. It was funny when I bought my Gladiator the dealer was trying to pass off on me that they had done a ceramic coat on it and were asking an additional 400.00 costs onto me. Knew they were lying because they could not even tell me what they used.

Trick is to get to the sales managers desks and get the deal worked then decline any upsells or add ons you didn't agree too. They didn't like it but I told him guess I'll just go home and think about it. Lord did he get pissed šŸ˜†. Had all the paperwork ready to sign.

They will act like the deal is done before you get to the back but I told him never signed a legal binding document agreeing to anything. The final deal happens in the back.

Chicken scratch paper doesn't hold water despite what the salesman will have you believe. They will get pissed but they will also realize you aren't an idoit either.
I worked in the car biz for years, with the majority of it being the internet sales manager of premium brands. Aka high maintenance, entitled customers. I’ve learned a lot of tricks and tips for a transparent, quick sales process. I helped my mom buy a new car last month and everything was done before she got there. She just had to sign the paperwork in the finance office and listen to the ā€œsales personā€ do a horrible vehicle delivery process.

Believe it or not, the phone is the most efficient way to get a good deal. I figured out the general sales manager’s email and emailed him that evening. I told him what I was trying to do and to call me. He called me the next morning and we worked out a deal in five minutes over the phone. I helped her send over her drivers license, insurance, etc and set an appointment for her to come in and pick her car up and it was clean, gassed up, and the paperwork was waiting for her. No add ons and a super cheap price. Lower than I expected. He accepted my low ball offer. They must have been short on their new car sales goals and it was the 29th.

They use an electronic desk here - and if you say no, they simply remove the check mark, the price drops, and you move on. There's no paper generated until you actually sign things.
But they know me/us and our buying history so often say "you probably don't want this" or "this is what you had last time if you want to review".

They never get upset, they just move on.

Don't buy into their theft tracking or whatever - you can do that sort of thing yourself in many many various ways and a whole lot cheaper (if you even want to)

I have a routine that I have used since my 07 JK.

Annually (usually in the spring), I Claybar, compound to remove swirl marks and Texas pin stripes from trails, then polish, then wax.

it's a day's work, but the paint still looks amazing, and it will last about a year with routine washing.

I took my JK in for an appraisal back in 2020 and from the outside, they didn't believe it was a 07 (not until the saw the interior).

I got my Gladdy ceramic coated and I actually run it through a car wash down the street EVERY DAY...got a great deal 49 a month for unlimited washes and includes a graphene rinse - so yeah - with black its gotta be clean. Had a crazy thought for those of us who keep it almost showroom condition most of the time...Stellantis should offer some kind of payback for us drivin' beauty Jeeps around 24/7/365 - get lotsa looks and it can't hurt their overall sales and visibility in the marketplace.
