I've been working with @Clayton Off Road for the past few weeks to finalize my order for my 2.5" Overland + kit and they've been awesome. I just received my shipping notice and it should be here by Friday. I currently have a JTR with the 1.5" Teraflex front spacer and .75 Daystar rear spacer. I'm pretty certain that I'll end up on 37's, but will have to run it with the stock Rubicon MT's so it'll look like it's skipped leg day for a bit.

I'm going back and forth on whether to keep any of the spacers in place post lift. I don't mind (actually like) the Clayton rake out of the box, but am concerned about the stance with my complete setup. I have the Mopar steel bumpers with the Smittybilt X20 Gen3 12K winch in front and OVS Freedom rack with 23 Zero Walkabout 62 RTT. I also have the Rockslide Engineering sliders, so there's a good bit of weight on the truck.

I'm considering keeping the 1" front (Teraflex comes with a 1: and .5" spacer in their kit) and 3/4" rear spacers.

I just don't want to spend all the money on the lift only to have it not make a huge difference, but I don't want to screw up my Clayton lift either. Any thoughts.
I don't think you should have any issues! Our kits are slightly under-advertised as it is, so the 2.5" kit usually provided about 3" of lift and slightly more in the front to remove some factory rake. All of the lifts are designed on Rubicon models with steel bumpers and a winch, so a lot of that weight is already taken into consideration :)

If the rack is super heavy the spacers may help in the rear, but ultimately I think you should be okay!

Thanks! I'm leaning towards leaving out the spacers and seeing how it shakes out. Since you've left a little rake in it, then the RTT and rack shouldn't do anymore that level it our. I can always add the spacers.

So…I haven’t heard any updates regarding your Diesel rated front springs for some time now. I visited your site last night and saw that several of the lifts were no longer in inventory. Any idea how long before you can stock back up?

@Clayton Off Road with your 2.5” overland plus kit, is it recommended to add the driveshaft carrier bearing spacer? Mine is a JT Rubicon.

I have a 2020 JT sport s max tow, been looking for a lift that I can use as a dd and due some wheelin without losing towing capability or payload . I have two buddies that swear by Clayton. Will this kit fit my needs? Towing is important and most likely will not go bigger than a 33’ or 35’.

Well, by changing the tire size and no mention of correction for the gear ratio you are reducing the tow rating. So the answer to your requirement of, “…without losing towing capability…” is you can’t unless you change your gearing and account for the added weight of the new components and larger tires.

With max tow his gearing is 4.10. If memory serves me right 35” tires are right on the edge of the ‘sweet spot’ of 4.10s. You will still feel a difference from the 32” tire on the Sport but should still be good in the gearing dept.

I get what you’re throwing down. He could hook up to a 15,000 trailer and pull it across the farm, as long as he didn’t have to stop quickly and didn’t hit any big bumps that would pretzel his frame.

I forget what model of Ford, but when the “max tow” wars were super hot with full size trucks Ford added factory 4.30 gears to inch their paper numbers up.

Here's a very non-glamorous side shot I took this morning:

Thanks! The stance looks good. I like the white truck with black accents. Looks good. What wheel and tire combo are you running? Looks like a Black Rhino Abrams. What is the size and offset?

How's the -18mm offset working? I'm trying to find wheels I like that have closer factory backspacing and there aren't many that I really like with positive offset. The -18 offset is a smig more than 1.25" further out than I thought I could live with. If I can go to that amount of offset it would open up a lot more options.

Do the stick out bad, have any rubbing issues, or drivability issues?

Thanks for the help.

They don't stick out bad but I like the looks of a little "poke" on Gladiators and Wranglers. -18mm is just the right amount of offset IMO, I still just barely rub on the lower control arm at full lock with the 12.50" tires so any less offset would take away from my turning radius. I also rub just a tad on the inner fender at full flex, but I plan to do some aftermarket inner fenders and possibly a fender chop sometime soon.
