climate controls - how to get fan only, no auto a/c

My 2023 gladiator with climate Auto set to Off, and A/C button set to Off will automatically turn on A/C if I am not careful with the Temperature setting;
My only info provided by system is outside Temp and Temp setting, no inside temp provided by system;
So I have to play with the temp setting to get A/C to not run and also be careful since if temp setting to high will turn on heat;

Wanting ability to just run the fan only - no auto climate features to be enabled.

I just repress the A/C button and turn it off.

I long for the old days of levers and cables and actual switches; the days when the hvac system would do what you told it to do and if something broke you could rig something together. For example my '97 TJ which is now always on defrost (plus whatever else I set it to) because the defrost door broke so I rigged it to be full open. And it doesn't have an AC button, that's what the windows and soft top are for.

From messing with the climate controls in my Ram, the non-auto mode is the same as auto except you control where the air goes and how fast the fan blows. It is still doing everything else the same. I had not run into the AC coming on after I turned it off but it does not surprise me. Hopefully pushing it to turn it back off, as Free2Roam said, will override it until next time.

Turn off the AC and Recirc, don't use auto. I can set mine to LO and if its 100* outside, the air coming out the vents is 100* unless I turn on the defroster.

Right??!!! I took am never really sure if the compressor is "off". I wish they just got rid of the A/C button and labeled it "ECON" where it would just be simple. I too just want to run the fan only and have been deselecting the A/C button when it's illuminated.

I have the same issue.
Even when I have the A/C off and just want out side air NO A/C NO climate control my compressor will kick on.
I have been thinking of adding an on and off switch to the compresses clutch.
