Well it's been a long difficult year of shorting radios, up to three replacements and probably 15 dealership trips never showing any codes but after I threatened to switch brands after five jeeps I finally recieved a refund check. Now to find a good waterproof replacement I can put it towards.

There is an update out for it, sorry to say I had my radio replaced originally too and unless it has the new software it'll do the same thing eventually.
Yup. It started again. Did you ever solve it with aftermarket?

So the update eventually stopped my radio from shorting out, ( clock loses time less often) but it caused a blacked out screen where it locks up for the drive every once in a blue moon. The radio had been replaced three times before that update.
I haven't gone aftermarket since I feel like no one has a good water resistant replacement with what I want. Just have to see if they release another update and if that finally fixes it. Jeep needs to just have another party build and program their radios lol
