Close your soft top without getting up from your seat.

I never use the velcro straps when I have my softtop open, and I drive the highway a lot. I found that I can open the soft top from the drivers seat without using the wind. Pop it open reach back, push on the bar and I can get enough momentum for it to close on its own.

I've noticed that the fabric gets caught in between two of the metal arms when it's folded back and is starting to wear through. Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, Its an annoyance. I either make an extra 2 trips around my vehicle to pull the fabric out, or use the "Let the wind open it" method; the best part about taking off and letting it ease back, is that the wind pressure holds the fabric out of the pinch points.
Its not going to immediately cut a hole in the fabric, but that concentrated of a stress on the top is not good for the long term durability, especially when you add dust and vibrations.
Plus its looks all wrinkly when you close it back.
The "bun" also sits much lower if you pull the fabric out nice and flat with even round folds.

Anyone with a soft top can probably relate that there are times you want to close the top without having to pull over or get up from the driver's seat.
I've been thinking of different ways and came up with some ideas as complex as 12v mini linear actuators to what I did today. (Cheap and easy)
So starting with some Paracord I tied to the driver's side long arm rear most hinge bracket.

And that's it!

Total cost maybe $1.80

So now at a stop sign or light I can just pull the top closed while sitting.

When the top is open or closed I just tuck the Paracord under the velcro of my grap handle.

I set mine up the same way, but just can't get the top to "start" up. I feel like I'm going to break something pulling so hard. Any trick to get it moving?

Honestly it's a hard pull, remember to keep your arm as far up as you can. But it will come over and no adverse effects.
I can try and make a video of it tomorrow.

There are Velcro straps for the soft top?

I just fold it back and never even thought about securing it once it’s folded.
