I had the same clunking noise at low speeds and backing out of driveways. The dealership replaced my ball joints and it didn’t help. Brought it back to the dealer a second time and they couldn’t find where the noise was coming from. The service manager said he didn’t hear anything. I opened a case with Jeep Wave and after about a week at the dealership they finally found the problem. Under the skid plate they found welded nuts broken inside of the frame. They replaced them with locking nuts and problem solved. Jeep wave was on top of the dealership and called me several time to update me. So if your dealership can’t solve your problem or gives you the run around file a case with Jeep Wave. After doing this I’ve never been treated better by a dealership.
Was it the weld nuts that hold the skid plate?

Okay, so apologies up front because I'm probably going to explain this poorly. I don't know a whole lot of terminology with these trucks yet lol.
I have a fairly new JT Overland, with about 2300 miles on it. I started noticing a few months ago when I first start the truck up and back out of my driveway, it's making a clunking type sound. It sounds like it's coming from the back end of the truck. When I've turned down my street or into a parking lot, it also tends to do it. Not every time though. It's hard to replicate.
It seems to only be doing it at speeds under 30. I don't hear anything strange going above that. Also no strange behavior as far as steering or anything..no check engine lights, etc. It sounds like something is just loose maybe and clunking around near the bed of the trunk. At least that's what it sounds like. Any idea? Anyone else experience this?

Hello,
I was wondering if you ever figured out what was going on with your jeep?
I have a Willys and the same thing is happening to me. Thanks for your time
Anthony
