It looks more like a tapered seal to me than an oring? I would guess by design, the pressure probably tightens the seal.
Mine was sweating at the hot side elbow for sometimes now. Pulled that pipe today to inspect the seal. Your assessment about the tapered seal designed to tighens up under boost is spot on. Mopar shown gen2 has a 45mm 68364979AA and a 55mm 68364983AA seal. I think 45mm is for the hot and 55mm cold side. I just cleaned mine and reinstalled. If it leak again, i'll try the gen2 seals.

While I was in there, i removed the resonator's baffle as i don't mind a little more spooling noise lol.
