Dang,

Literally right after I buy this ugly nostril cover I find this post!

I'm going to assume the extra cold in WI over Kentucky justified this purchase lol.

I'll buy it off you if you make me a deal  In Michigan right now and it's getting cold.
But back on topic, heating of the cabin is a non issue especially with remote start and heated seats + steering wheel. Also one of the posters is right, the diesel comes with an extra heating element. I think you can find it in your build sheet.

Remember diesels cooler than gas counterparts during the combustion process. As such, it will take a bit longer to warm up that coolant which in turn warms up the cab. I’ve noticed the difference switching from gas to a diesel Gladiator. But I will say this, its helluva lot faster warming up than my old F450!

Always been super impressed how quickly the Pentastar warms up, I have had 3 of them and they are great in the winter. My Tundra would barely have any heat in my 15 minute ride to work.

I had a 2016 JKU, 2020 JLU, and now have a 2021 JTRD. Without a doubt, in cab heating seemed quicker in the JKU and JLU with the Pentastar. I've remote started each in the cold Northern Michigan winter and without a doubt the Pentastar got up to engine temp quicker and heated the cab quicker--despite the additional open space to heat (rear cargo area). That all being said, the diesel still does warm up substantially quicker than my wife's subaru, and it will toast you out of it if you turn the heat up high.

Cold weather update and findings:

1) Currently in MI. Car starts easily in 20s and 30s outside temp even overnight
2) Idling 10-15-20min in freezing temperatures does not decrease oil temperature. Tested down to 25F now
3) Car warms up very quickly when started dead cold and driven with low load. Oil gets up to temp quickly and doesn't go down
4) Car can reach 220F oil temp very easily in the cold. This hasn't been the case even with gas engines I owned
5) All of this data is low load only, no towing. People/stuff carrier

All in all I think this car is totally winter proof. They run hot even in the winter which is consistent with what diesels like. Along with the block heater they are great winter vehicles. For now there is no reason to buy the grille cover

I have a JTRD and live in NW Washington. Have had temps in the 30s past few weeks at times. Truck warms up fast, in my opinion no different than a gasser. High idle is normal for a diesel when it's cold and I for one am happy they programmed it do it when it's cold without me forcing it. It's a small engine so doesn't take as much as the heavy duties to warm up
