Food for thought...I went with a narrow 35. Less rolling resistance.
Mine are 11.5x35

Thanks @BlackDog and @DocMike for the insight. I suspect I'd probably be okay with the 315/70r17's and the 4.10 gears for what I do. That said, I might just keep with the stock 285/70r17 - or pick a different tire brand and get 285/75r17 for a happy compromise. I still have some time to choose. Then I'll just see where problems hit and adjust from there if necessary.

Either way, I look forward to wheeling with you all come Spring!

Damn. Hope you get to do some wheeling out there.

Unfortunately me and my Gladiator will be in UT helping a son move. Thanks for the invite though!

I'll do Red Cone. Any other takers? Changing leaves and it's going to be winter and we will all be complaining about no wheeling.
You'll enjoy it. I would go, but working this weekend. Doing 3 trails tomorrow, Saints John, Santa Fe Peak and North and Middle Fork of Swan River starting in Montezuma. Should be some great Aspen viewing.

Hi all!
Little late posting. Bought the JT back in June, coming from an 07 JKU. Would love to chat with some locals about lifts you went with and who installed. Looking at 2.5-3.5 on 37s as soon as I can make up my mind. Leaning Evo or Metal cloak, maybe AEV.

Also will be taking the family up around Kenosha Sunday morning. Will I see any of you up there?

Oh located Centennial/ Littleton area..

Yeah, being very weight conscious with this build. The stock ATs are 63lbs and the 315s I'm looking at are only 65.5, combined with the aftermarket wheels and replacing the spare Steelie, I'm only 5-ish pounds over stock all done. If I got the 285 route, those are 8lbs under stock.

Redcone, China Wall, Mini Moab....other?
I'd join, but my gladiator isn't here yet and I currently can't shift my Wrangler.

All routine-ish. nothing severe, just fixing some nerve issues in the elbow.

Long day of trails today. 6am start, 630pm finish. Started at Montezuma going over Old Loveland Pass. ***Special note: Be courteous, air down on the start of the trail. They have signs in Montezuma not to block the streets or stop along the street, so passing this along as a courtesy to that town, as Jeeps are nuisance for them.*** Saints John/Deer Creek to the top of Glacier Peak. South to North Fork Swan/Middle Fork Swan loop, back up to the top of Radical Hill, and descended Radical Hill. Webster Pass to finish it out back to 285. Radical Hill can be done top to bottom without lockers, but lockers recommend if you go up instead. It'll give your butt a pucker or two with some off camber spots, and will be real cozy with your skid plates. Aspens are in full color around there too.

What brand of tire? I'm planning 35's next year and narrow meets my needs better.

Hello! I need to post up pics from the last two months (Ouray, CB)... But took the kids (2 and 3 years old) to T33 on Sat..
Its the 2nd time i do the trail, big difference from the 1s to the 2nd time as the 1st it was like our 3rd trail.... But still T33 really puts the skid plates to use (on a stock Rub Diesel)!

I did this trail recently as well in my stock Rubi. It definitely made me want a small lift and 35s, but it also showed me how capable it really is in stock form. It was a fun trail.

Aspens are in full color this weekend around Vail, Leadville and Breckenridge. Just did 2.1 trails today as McAllister Gulch is closed at the Shrine Pass entrance, so did Shrine Pass instead, which is pretty much a dirt road a Smart Car could drive between Red Cliff and Vail Pass. We later found that McAllister is open from Camp Hale side, just have to loop around, and drive Ptarmigan. There's mudslide damage on the trail, so eta for trail opening from Shrine unknown.

We then hit Mosquito Pass starting at Leadville, and then Georgia Pass starting at Breckenridge to finish the day. Georgia was overrun with ATV and UTV's on the Breck side, so keep that in mind if you go.

One final note, we ran across a White Rivian electric truck, no camouflage, on the drive back into Denver on 285 on the drive up Kenosha Pass, it was heading South. Unable to capture a picture of it

Now know the reason we saw a white Rivian. They were headed to Breckenridge for this product demonstration. https://electrek.co/2021/09/28/rivi...-pickup-ive-ever-driven-both-off-road-and-on/

I've been happy with my lift it's a JKS J-Venture, 3-3.5" with Fox 2.0 performance shocks, Yeti Steer Brace this is a must. The JKS is geared towards ride quality vs. Off-roading but apparently it does a good job with off roading as well. It's more of a entry level / mid level lift so it's not going to set you back an arm and a leg, JKS over builds so it's a quality product for the price, some others I looked at like the EVO were way more expensive. Unless you do extreme rock crawling the JKS is probably more than good enough. I have 37"x 20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. The JKS is fairly level as well and looks great. I doubt just by looking at it that you could tell it was a JKS or EVO riding down the road, shocks maybe? I had the work done at trail jeeps in golden, which is nationally recognized, the owner is a former professional rock crawler / Rock Racer Weston Blackie. I had my gears done at the same time as my lift, they recommended 5.13 gears and that's what I went with, it was a great decision, restored power, restored mpg's. its' awesome. I put some photos in my showcase if your interested in the lift. They also deal in the other lifts you mentioned like Evo, Metal Cloak etc. I'd give them a call and tell them what type of driving your doing and see what they recommend, which is what I did.
