Combining audio

I've upgraded the upper dash speakers and they sound great. I recently did the 6x9 conversion in the soundbar and they don't. The problem is that with the way the trucks are wired, there are two leads...one with highs and one with lows for each L+R side.

Does anyone make a combiner to tie the two leads together so that the 3-way speakers I bought will sound right?

Never new that, I put in speakers also, but then just got a low profile sub off Amazon for $130 and it sounds great

I don’t think that is accurate. There are two leads in the soundbar but both are full range. I have replaced the two speakers with 6.5s and they sound amazing. I do have an external amp though. I think you have more of a tuning issue.

Also, I replaced the dash and soundbar but took a while to replace the kick panel speakers. There were some sound quality issues at certain frequencies before I got the kick panel speakers replaced. Sounds so good now that all speakers have been changed.

Months back I did front dash with the JL-C2-350X and for the soundbar the Alpine SPV-65-JLT and cut the housing a bit to open it up so they fit. Been very happy. Came here to say if your 6x9s have a tweeter you'll want to unplug it from the speaker and then use both connectors that come down from the factory harness. The Alpine's have their tweeters connected to the 6x5 block, so just had to disconnect that and then plug both individually to the factory harness. If your 6x9s dont have a tweeter, youll want to get ones that do, so you can hook up the smaller driver to the harness that was previously connected to the smaller stock speaker, then the 6x9 to the woofer connector.

Stock wiring has one lead going to the 3-1/2" stock speaker and one going to the 4" stock speaker. They have different size connectors.

MB Quart (who I bought the 6x9 conversion kit from) told me that the two different leads have different freq's because the stock head unit (or wiring after) has a crossover to separate high/low. They said that if I just wired them together to get full range to one 3-way 6x9 speaker, it would eventually damage the head unit.

They sent me another pigtail to hook up to the low freq line and I will try that to see if it sounds better.

Do you have factory alpine amp?

The stock head unit is 4 channel and puts out each channel to 2 speakers which are I believe 8 ohm.

I just swapped the cable on one side and left the other alone. Definite difference in frequency delivered between the two. I did the other side and it is now back to what I will call "stock plus" sound. Really need an amp to reach potential with the 6x9's I chose, but it sounds way better than a regular system.

Powered sub will be next at some point.
