Awww….C’mon… You can’t tell me they didn’t know that was gonna happen and/or wasn’t planned.

A business like that….. that’s a shit-ton of publicity and exposure for them. I’m sure that video is ALL over the internet, and here we are…talking about it.

Sacrifice some repair costs for a shit-ton of free advertising…. Win win!

Repair costs? That frame is trash. At least there are still huge discounts on new JTs.

From people who were there it sounds like they hit it at 20mph. Everyone was told to hit it at 45mph. Looks painful and in my opinion that truck is totaled. Not given a speed there's no way I'm trying to figure it out as over shooting the landing is almost as bad. Tell me the speed I need and I'll give it a shot.

How much speed would it take to get a 5,000lb truck over that jump?
The same speed as a 500lb truck? Gravity doesn't care how much you weigh. Short of having wings or being so light you actually glide on the air launch anything at the same angle and velocity and it flies the same distance and lands at the same time. Now the force it imparts on the landing point will be wildly different. That's why they can tell the drivers to hit it at 45mph even though some are in sxs's and others are in full body trucks.
