Did you figure out your sub issue and how does it sound post-fixing? I'd love to do something similar. Also, what line of the Focal speakers did you use?I figured out one of the reasons I’m not as impressed with the sound quality as I thought I would be. My sub isn’t putting out any sound. Gonna have to do some troubleshooting.
I used 165 Access Focals and the PSB 200 sub behind rear seats. The sub is 4 ohm and I plan on adding another bridged to get them to 2 ohm. That will bring me to 10 speakers. Yup LOVE it now!Did you figure out your sub issue and how does it sound post-fixing? I'd love to do something similar. Also, what line of the Focal speakers did you use?
That’s awesome! Is it still working well for you? And did I read correctly you just slipped the sub in behind the rear seat?I used 165 Access Focals and the PSB 200 sub behind rear seats. Correct on both accounts. Still have had a chance to add the 2nd Sub though. That’s awesome! Is it still working well for you? And did I read correctly you just slipped the sub in behind the rear seat?
Ah, I’m looking forward to how you go about adding the 2nd sub. Glad it’s working well! I think I’ll be doing the same in the new yearCorrect on both accounts. Still have had a chance to add the 2nd Sub though.
I plan on also putting the 2nd sub behind the seat. One on each side of the truck.Ah, I’m looking forward to how you go about adding the 2nd sub. Glad it’s working well! I think I’ll be doing the same in the new year
Are you going to have to change anything behind the seat for that to work?I plan on also putting the 2nd sub behind the seat. One on each side of the truck.
I did have to remove the plastic cubby tray that sits on the floor behind the back seat. Its a snug fit when the seat is folded down but it works fine. Are you going to have to change anything behind the seat for that to work?
Oh, so did you put it under the seat or fold the seat down and put it behind like along the wall?I did have to remove the plastic cubby tray that sits on the floor behind the back seat. Its a snug fit when the seat is folded down but it works fine.
If you still have access to that CAD drawing, I would love a copy as a starting point.I should still have my CAD files somewhere. I will see what I can find. For the most part I followed what I drew up, but getting all of the pockets and recesses in the back and bottom was a lot of trial and error. I didn't cut any of the factory threaded studs on the cab floor and rear wall off, but that would make fitment easier for sure.
Sound wise it does everything I was after. Sounds great and plays plenty loud even with the top and doors off.
I still haven't fabbed up any dash pods for the 3" mids and tweets, but maybe this fall I will get around to it. Also need to get my AudioControl bass level knob installed in my dash plate where I put my heated seat switches. Need to finish up that "hidden" compartment door install as well. I have an electronic lock for it, but still need to locate the right type of hinge to keep everything concealed. Details, details...
One thing I would change for sure is to use a more quality vinyl adhesive. The spray adhesive I used isn't worth a sh!t in our summer Texas heat. May recover the box at some point now that I have learned my lesson.
