No.

No - though the closest thing I have seen to oil starvation is an oil galley bolt backing out of the head. Doesn't seem common.

Use what's in the manual.

Get a Jeep and have fun - dump it when the engine warranty runs out OR buy an extended warranty if you are concerned.

I have a 2022 with a 107,000 miles on it.
Use good synthetic oil and keep it changed.
I also bought a warranty from car shield at the beginning of the year.
I expect to take this to at least 250,000 miles.

I wouldn't do any internal engine changes with a warrantied vehicle.

I also wouldn't use any oil except what is recommended.

Keep that warranty in tact.

Let that warranty take care of anything that comes up (you ARE paying for it).

Stop reading and believing everything you see & read on the internet. Use your common sense.

The narrative of "Engine Problems" for the Pentastar always makes me scratch my head. Keep in mind on the internet, you're going to see some positive, but mostly negative responses because people go to the internet for troubleshooting and negative venting.

Molly Jolly who happily drives her kids to baseball practice everyday in her Chrysler Pacifica is not on the internet to give her opinion. I'm not a Stellantis apologist (not even close actually), but for the most part, the Penatstar, if maintained properly, is a solid engine.

No, it's not the Honda bulletproof 3.5L V6 (to which I've owned 7 different vehicles with this engine), but it's still a solid engine in everything from a Chrysler 300 to a base Ram 1500. Keep in mind Honda thinks off-roading is a Honda Passport. Ahem.

So go for the 2026 and have fun with everything that makes a Jeep, a Jeep. 👍

EXCELLENT advice, "Stop reading and believing everything you see and read ....." Anyone can pick any car they want, find a forum or blog, and make an issue of any problems they have had. A significant number of people complain about something when it doesn't work or fails. You hear less from those who have vehicles and they perform to their expectations. Do people go on these sites and say, "My vehicle ran very well last year, everything was fine." No, much of what you hear are problems that they may have had. And they are in the minority.

Yes, we know Stellantis is a shit when it comes to parts and repairs. OK, got it. The 3.6 has its issues with the camshaft for a few. But many Jeeps use the ZF (manufactured or licensed) transmissions. How may complaints do you hear about that? Compare that to Ford. Compare that to the complaints about GM still using the Allison nameplate on the 2500/3500 pickups even though GM now can make them cheaper themselves.

Pick your poison. I hate all the extra electrical shit and batteries in my '24 JTR but would not trade it for anything else. Well, noting else but a 'newer 26/'27 JTR or JTM.

Except for Ford and GM?

I know my Facebook feeds me FAR more Chevrolet engines with failed lifters (5.3) and failed main bearings (6.2) than it ever has Pentastars with bad cams. Don't get me wrong - I have seen both online. I have also personally seen more GM lifter failures than Jeep Pentastar failures.

But who knows.

@StanH has near 150K on his with no engine troubles if I remember.

I have concerns with all new vehicles for many years so I buy extended warranties.
I find the Gladiator the best choice of all the options for myself. When looking at the Mojave look farther at the Mojave X. The X cost more but the package is loaded with extras. The four wheel portion on the X also has one additional four wheel drive option.
Be an informed buyer because I find a lot of sales people may not fully understand the features.

Pick your poison..
Exactly...
My husband & I have since experienced so many different makes of cars/trucks without any issues (knock on wood). Granted....we buy new and only keep them about 8-10 years (some less). The newer cars & trucks just aren't made like they used to. In order to keep them reliable for 10+ years, requires a lot of extra time, $$ and effort in repairs and maintenance. So, I totally understand the 'need' to seek out reliability. It's just few and far inbetween...

I don't buy extended warranties on vehicles - never did. We take the chance of keeping the $ in our own investment accounts and aren't worried about paying for parts & labor for any repairs needed.
Otherwise, if the repair bills start adding up.... it'd end up on the dealer lot as a trade. 😁

On the opposite end of the scale... I never used to buy extended warranties on appliances. I buy them now!!! And have had to use them!!!

Not a lot of things you can rely on these days .... family and friends or pets?? 😊

- Taking care of what the Lord has blessed us with is something that we do not take lightly. Our family is about fine quality, cutting corners is not an option.

After much research of all the preferred manufactures, my it was overwhelming hearing the constant problems that these new vehicles are having. However prior to this post, we narrowed it down to the 2026 Jeep Gladiator, that is why I posted the questions I did to hear first hand from newer Jeep owners.

I thank you and all the others for your input, as this will be used towards our decision making process.
