I use mine a ton. Well - I dont have factory trail rails. I have unistrut painted black, and my tie down hooks are small loops, three down each side, that lay flat when not in used. Not the big bulky ass things that come with the real trail rails.

any more information on the unistrut loops? I have eyelets in mine, but I am not super happy with how they stick out.

The aux switches in these are in a terrible location. Thats my main hang up with mine....

Power lock in the tailgate i like until I go to the truck to put shit in the bed then gotta fish my keys out my pocket or grab a front door handle.

Auto mode on the AC kinda drives me nuts sometimes...

Auto park. My fiance was moving her van earlier to mow and she yelled at me 'look what I can do!' (Backing up with the door open).

Yeah mine was more so a symmetry thing too. And yeah they are pricey luckily I got a set of orange ones for basically free from a buddy who works at a body shop. One got scratched by Amazon van insurance paid for a new one. New one didn't match the old one so insurance bought another new one. I got the benefit of receiving the old ones.

Where you located? I got a single black one I don't need anymore maybe we could work something out.

Rag tops - In my mind I LOVE the ability to quickly go topless in my Jeeps. Then I owned the first one a 2005 Rocky Mountain edition and the noise on the highway was deafening.

meh. The wife’s JLU has a soft top. It’s definitely not quiet, but also not horrible. Way better than the top on the YJ. I did make sure I got a hard top on the JTR. However, I have pulled the freedom panels a couple times and I will probably get a Sunrider and liner for the summer months. I wi just go back to my insulated freedom panels for long road trips.

Just goes to show how different our use cases are. I use almost all of these on a regular basis and why I searched for a JTR with all the packages. In fact, I went with a ‘24 for the 12.1 screen.

Honestly, I can’t tell a difference between the AC in my ‘24 JTR and the AC in the wife’s ’21 JLU. Either gets cold enough to do the job. I definitely prefer the extra screen space, but I am a tech guy and I use onX and Apple Maps on the screen versus hanging a tablet in the cabin.

Unistrut is far more useful and cheaper.

There definitely are some comfort and convenience items I do like (my back sure appreciates the heated seats), but to me most of the items I listed are gimmicky or completely unnecessary. In my opinion too many "features" on newer cars are a pointless Rube Goldberg approach that make things more expensive and likely to fail.

ESS - I don't do much stop and go driving, and frankly shutting a turbodiesel off abruptly after a highway jaunt is not good for the turbo.

Automatic headlights and high beams - decades of muscle memory and almost zero effort required to manually operate them make these superfluous. I've also had numerous encounters with other drivers relying on these items and the auto high beam especially doesn't work as well as it should (fail to dip until way too close).

Blind spot monitoring - I've always made it a habit to adjust my side mirrors outward so that blind spots are almost eliminated. What little blind spot remains can be seen by just turning my head a bit to each side to check for traffic. Now to be fair the blind spot monitor system in the JT does come in really handy on mountain shelf roads to let me know the face of the mountain is still there next to me, or when driving in the rain to let me know my tires are throwing up a dense cloud of mist.

Off road cruise - well and truly a gimmick in my opinion, especially so when one has an automatic transmission. Basic off road driving skills makes this pointless, and relying on this IMO will only delay gaining those basic skills for those trying to learn.

Voice controls - I can see the appeal for other folks, I just don't have the want to use them.

Auxiliary switches - another one I just don't have any need or want for. I don't add a bunch of electrical accessories and don't need to light up my surroundings like a ball park.

Power lock in the tailgate - I have no bed cover, so the whole idea of locking the tailgate in the first place is kinda pointless. If I ever did install a bed cover and wanted to secure something in the bed, then I would simply manually lock it with the key.

Auto mode on the HVAC system - my main complaint is how it changes the fan speed too much and too soon. Manually selecting the fan speed and mode door positions works better for me.

Auto Park - nanny state stuff, which as a whole, I generally dislike. IMO, keep your parking brake adjusted and set it any time you leave the engine running and get out of the vehicle.
