My question is the difference between max tow and Sport, no tow, cooling? Is it only the fan? Can I change mine?
2020 no tow Sport, wdh, Anderson chains, 3.73, on 33s. Might change to 4.56s.
Trailer. Trailmanor, 3000lb dry, 400lb tongue weight.
I'm bad about overkill.

Bigger alternator, fan and bigger openings in the grill

You would need the 240 Amp Alternator, Class IV hitch, Max Tow Rated Coil Springs, Heavy Duty Shocks, 4.10 gear wide axles and the heavy duty cooling which is just a bigger electric fan over the base sport.

While the above would meet the technical specification of meeting a 7600 lbs tow rating, your "legal" tow rating would always remain what the vehicle was originally built as rating.

Re gearing just to tow a 3k trailer is the definition of overkill with a big sprinkle of unnecessary haha

The 3.73s will be fine for your needs.

Thanks guys. Sounds like a new alternator and fan. I'll think about the grill. No regear, maybe.lol

Do you have the factory installed Aux Switch group? If so, that already gives you the 240 amp alternator.

You will be limited to 4500 towing and 450 tongue legally no matter what you do (that is Sport without factory max tow). As stated earlier, you can add all you want but legally you are stuck at those numbers.

If you are starting at a tongue of 400 dry, there is no chance in hades you will stay under 450 once you add the propane tanks and batteries and ANYTHING to the trailer. Just the propane and batteries will throw you over.

So just keep that in mind. If something happens while towing and you are over those weights all liability falls to you and insurance will not cover it. So make sure you do not exceed the numbers for the Sport without max tow.

I take it that you are looking at the 27-- series?
With LED lights, I don't even see why you would need the upgraded alternator. I mean we ran 30' enclosed trailers on 80 amps for years! Fan may be a good idea being in Florida heat. Are you planning trips with mountains? That low profile is going to be NICE! My trailer is 2480 lbs. but has a lot more frontal drag.
I would not worry about regearing. 3.73's with 33's are pretty darned close to my 4.10's with 35's, about 100 rpm apart. After a trip to Orlando and another into the Adirondacks, I am not changing anything. When I tow, I stay out of overdrive, okay. When not towing I have the advantage of two overdrives. Life is good.
I know what the numbers say.........
Maybe a set of airbags for the rear with like 10-15 lbs in them. Also I would go with a set of lightweight load levelers at least to help with oscillation. Check your tires for capacity.
