Hi all. I’m looking to remove the Cooltech flat tow harness. Ahead of doing the full removal and reconnecting factory wiring I’d like to cut the main wire that runs up to the front bumper, tape off the ends and save the full job for another day. Pretty confident I won’t have issues if I do it, but looking for some reassurance. Will I cause any issues/things stop working if I do it?

Considering taking it to a shop for the final step. If anyone in Western WA, Enumclaw area has shop recommendations I’d greatly appreciate it!

I built my own copy of the CoolTech harness and saved a ton of money. For the installation I used spade connectors to make removing it a breeze. I can return our Jeeps to factory configuration in minutes - at least once I dig my way down to the wiring channel under the front passenger door! I also installed the switch on the dash rather than under the pasenger seat - makes it easy to access from the driver's seat.

Do you have a pic of where you mounted the switch? You connected in the same places as the cool tech?

Don't have a pic handy, but the switch is mounted on the dash, to the right of the glove box opening. I could have mounted it closere to the driver's seat but I was too lazy to run the wires over there! The wiring is connected where CoolTech advises - it's easy to get to, once you remove all the trim pieces!

Allen, do you have a wiring diagram for the switch? With the 4 wires coming from the 6 pin, white (ground), green (right turn/brake), yellow (left turn/brake) and brown for running lights, I only see the green and yellow to splice on the jeep side, where is the brown and white going to?
