1. so the bolt size is M6x1 ---i got some bolts (to use with ties downs) and they only thread in a little bit. the bed is not line-x-ed yet (getting it tomorrow) so am assuming the threads are jamming because of original paint? can i just keep screwing em in to clear the paint out?

1.5 if not, what would be the best tap to clean out the threads? I dont want to ruin the existing threads. Note that its getting line-x tomorrow, so that may come into play...

2. anyone have a "ladder rack" on their gladiator? specifically with a tonneau cover? I have the tonneau cover (from jeep) and am hoping i can add ladder racks so i can haul kayaks

just looking for expert help!!!

thanks!

Wooden golf tees, stuff them in bolt holes, tell Line-X guys to leave them in until after spraying bed.

Tie down loops in front of bed, take them out NOW, put M8 bolts in to save those threads.
Yeah they say they will take care of them, they seldom do.

Wait until after bed liner is set before you tackle the M6 bolt holes. You actually want a thread chaser, but will have to wait for a few days for delivery from Amazon, hardware stores don't stock them.

The Thule rack should work with any tonneau that has slots down the side like the Bak Revolver X4

You can take one of the screws out of the panel on the inside of the tailgate and chase the threads out with it, if you don't want to purchase a thread chaser. Mine had the factory bedliner installed and I used one of those screws to clean out the threads.

M6-1 tap to clean out the threads. Check out xtrusion-overland.com for a rack. They make it anywhere from 7" short to 21" tall and are designing a kayak attachment.
