Now how in the world can that void a warranty for a window leak?
Is this another dealer just trying to get out of something? That's like saying because I have bed liner in mine I can't get a cracked tailgate fixed? (just tossing stuff out, I don't have a cracked tailgate and do have factory spray-in bedliner)
Sorry, I can't see how that voids a warranty for a leak.

They might try to claim the solvents weakened the seal. Just a guess though.

HGP windshield finally took a fatal hit.

Today, going down the highway at 75, I watched a golf ball sized rocked come out up from a truck in front of me that got close to the edge of the paved surface.

Unfortunately, the windshield didn't come away damage free this time. Guess Monday I need to get a warranty claim started. The spot on the windshield is about the size of a quarter.

Not sure I understand how a rock from the highway is a warranty claim, and not just a normal insurance comprehensive claim?

The windshield is a guaranteed rock resistant windshield that comes with a 2 year replacement warranty. That is how!

It is in the warranty! If you try an insurance claim they will pay the $200 for a normal windshield, not the $800+ for the impact resistant windshield.

I’ve posted this in a similar thread before but you guys should really look at Racing Optics windshield film. Would probably save you some money in the long run. Im at 30k miles without a crack (yet).

Joined the club today. 13,000 miles and finally had my first crack due to a rock flying of a flatbed hauling construction equipment.

Thank God I have a policy with free glass replacement. Safe-lite guy said that jeeps keep him in business and that he would see me again soon. Lol.

Adding yet another chapter to my windshield saga, gorilla Glass ain't all it's cracked to be. Put this in perspective; last June I went to my Jeep service manager to discuss replacing my windshield with three cracks in it, that occurred over a three-month period. The service manager said they contacted the local glass company does their windshields for them. He gave me the name the glass company so I told him I was going to go over there and talk to them about getting windshield replaced with this gorilla glass that is supposedly very strong.
I do have insurance, a $500 deductible. This is more about principal than it is about money.
Gorilla Glass, cost $1056. So I paid $556. Things were going fine, couple rocks hit the windshield but nothing big. That is until the snowstorm, or, as I like to call it, mini-snowmagedon up here in east Placer County. When I was finally able to get out of my driveway, I was driving down the freeway and I saw a snowplow traveling the opposite direction. As I got about 25 yards away, I saw a rock about the size of a quarter fly up and hit my windshield, and yes, it cracked. Relative speed had to be less than 40mph.
One of the selling points of this new windshield was a kind of freebie warranty for one windshield replacement. So, while disappointed that it cracked easier than I thought it should, I was cool with the idea that I was going to get it replaced for free. Not so fast cowboy.
I called up the service manager and told him what happened. He said he would look at the warranty information and get back to me. Week later, I called the service manager again, and he said he was trying to get some information about where I got windshield installed. I told him, I got it installed at the glass place that he sent me to. As it turns out, I should've had a work order from the Jeep service manager to get it replaced, and because I didn't have a work order, it's not on my Jeep service record, and therefore not eligible for warranty replacement. Further, the service manager indicated that the glass company did not purchase the windshield from Mopar directly and therefore it was further not subject to warranty.
Yes, I made the obvious argument, that none of this was my independent doing and I was only following what he told me to do. Why didn't he do a W/O, I told him I was going there? Then he adds that the warranty for the gorilla glass windshield only extends up to 2018 jeeps. So, clearly, arguing this is a moot point. Except, that it's not.
My avenues to address this issue are limited to the intentionally complex, confusing, and annoying customer service process; whether it's the Jeep dealer, Mopar, or Stilantis - whatever the hell that name is.
Honestly, I'm not getting another gorilla glass windshield, that's just stupid. I'm going back to a regular windshield, and just gonna start budgeting for three windshields a year. I may also look at changing my deductible.
Let this be a cautionary tale to all Gladiator owners out there. There is something perfect about the angle of the windshield that rocks love more than even the JK's. I can say that having owned a 2010 two-door nearly 11 years. And yes Random is worth it, still way too much to love about that rig.

There's got to be something about the aerodynamics of these vehicles which is increasing the likelihood of rocks hitting the windshield vs other/older models.

18,878 miles, 17 months of ownership, just got my 5th windshield cracked.

I too have had a few CJ's, TJ's, over the years with several 100K miles between them have never, ever, experienced anything like this. I thought perhaps it was just driving the interstate, or the local area. However, its been broken in Ohio, Oklahoma, Georgia, Arizona. Maybe its the interstate...that's where the 1st 4 got broken. But, the last one happened on a local road at 40MPH from something which was completely unseen (similarly with the last break) and I can't even blame a random nearby Semi or Dump truck. Seems the only permanent fix......trade it in. Very frustrating.

How much did you pay for this product. It seems you need to call an installer to get a quote. They don't publish anything online.

Thanks.

Its too bad, the install looks easy and pretty idiot proof since its a wet install.
