Cup holder is in the way! Anyone removed their cup holder to gain foot space?

Question has anyone removed their cup holder to gain foot space .. I have three kids and that damn cup holder is right in the way.

I dont think all models have the cupholder - you may be able to find the part number for the plastic trim that goes there on the models without.

I knew I had seen this somewhere before.

The Jeep Wrangler parts diagram lists an alternate piece for the cupholder, but it appears to be out of stock and the part number itself isnt listed, referring to part #15 on this diagram:

The Jeep Gladiator center console base is the same part number, but that cupholder alternate is not listed on its diagram.

The cupholder insert from the Gladiator diagram shows compatibility with Wrangler on its parts page under the fitment tab:

Like take all this off

I’ve actually thought about that cause it’s gonna get hit by their feet anyway.. no need for it to be show quality !!!

I would LOVE to just see the entire center console re-designed. lets put cup holders, usb plugs and an outlet right there above the cup holders and right where kids will be kicking!

3 kids seems like you would have one person up front, and 2 in the back..... If there is a wife in the equation, maybe that is another alternative?

Seriously get a SUV if you have 3 kids, or a full size truck. 5 people in a Gladiator is just too much IMO

From what I can tell we should be able to replace it with the coin tray (or whatever its called) style from the Wrangler

why cloth doesnt have the cupholder armrest instead of this, is just greed. Im assuming those with leather get the flat bottom one, could be mistaken. My mothers JL with leather is flat like the image above. Still gets kicks though

COMMON! someone here must have taken the ole reciprocating saw from the garage after a couple of beers and hacked that piece right off?!. But seriously I need someone to do that so I know what to do and what not to do to take mine out and still look good. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
