Hello , im looking for a dana 44 oem front wide track axle housing, i have everything else from the components just need a housing mine broke in half

did it break at the FAD?

If so you might be able to get a machine shop to turn a sleeve for you, then you can remove the FAD casting and use the sleeve over the axle tube to make axle whole and weld it.

I been running 37s for like 4 months ā€¦ thatā€™s the only logical way , i heard this stuff happens once you get to the 40s with stock axles but i guess not, i just wish i would of bought the truss reinforcement

Thank you man! Definitely nothing happen to me or others, just happy that nothing major happen to the car I spend soo much money on and it can be fixed

I believe it did break next to the FAD , do you think i can do that and reinforce the axle on top? The shaft that camed out of that area i checked it and itā€™s in perfect condition no damage
anything is possible with a lath and a welder, trick is finding someone who can use one.

Well thankfully i live near the border of mexico and i know good welding shops for cheap, i actually do most of my mods over at mexico, my both axle gear swaps cost me $250 dollars to install and i seen people get quoted 2,000$ for the same job or more

I also suspect a jig will be needed to hold the wheel end of the tube at the same angle the cast use to.

a jig is something that can hold a piece in place without moving to preserve a distance or angle or both but still allow you to assemble or disassemble some thing. In you case a jig would be used to preserve the oem castor of the axle tube. A machinist should know what a jig is.

I only mention it because if you don't match the original castor angle you will have poor handling truck.

A jig would need to be made before you cut the FAD housing off.
