It might be related to the 'Headlights with Wipers setting. Accessed throught your Uconnect Multimedia centre.

This is 100% related to the automatic headlights kicking in.

If you have it set to intermittent (at least on the first click) the headlights won't cut on until about the 2nd time the wipers activate. It's enough of a delay to make them seem unconnected.

If the changing the U-connect settings didn't help, I would suggest manually turning on your headlights instead of leaving it on auto. It won't stop the dash from dimming but at least you will be able to control it.

The state law around here requires you to use headlights when it's raining, but I think the law states that it doesn't apply for intermittent wiper use.

For what it's worth, I have never had auto headlights before and didn't like them on other people's vehicles if I had to drive them. But I am now growing lazy thanks to technology and leave it on auto. I think it's got to look weird when I'm at a stop light and they turn off/on but figure anyone with a newer vehicle will understand why.
