Sometimes when the wipers go the dash display goes dim.
Sometimes it does it just to be ornery.

Every time it's a pain you-know-where.

Anyone fix this?

Dealer's idea of service.....here's the dash light dimmer switch. Turn it this way.

Do you have automatic headlights?

When your headlights go on the dash dims to what ever setting you have on the dash lights for night driving. If you put something on the dash that covers the sensor for the lights the headlights can turn on even in the day. Turning wipers on will turn the lights on if you have that set in your settings as well.

Thanks Russell.
The lights on the dash go out when it happens. If the wipers are set on intermittent. And they swipe, once in a while the dash lights go out. It's no fun.
what we do now is turn the dash light dimmer switch to full on to turn on the dome light, then back off a smidgeon. That leaves the dash lights too bright, but at least they are on.

This is a feature in the Uconnect that you can control. There is an option to turn on the headlights when the wipers turn on.

Thanks OldSalt52--a well travelled man!
I got to see the launching of a number of tankers and freighters. And was on board some. Never sailed on any. Did sail on a small aircraft carrier. Loved it. Almost a week at see in the North Atlantic.

My first trip into the north Atlantic after I got out of school was into 40+ ft seas, hurricane force winds and temp near freezing. We arrived in Germany with a 4 degree list because cargo had shifted from the extreme rolling. Lots of fun. I worked in the engineroom so at least I was able to keep warm.

The dimmer switch, bring it all the way down, then slowly bring it up. There are two slight "click" feelings. The first click will keep anything and everything in the cabin at full brightness. The second click turns on the overhead light. Keep it at either click #1 or just below it. Below the first click everything will still dim with wipers or if the auto headlights come on.

Your headlight dial is on Auto, correct?

Been there. We were off the coast of Russia one year in January after leaving Alaska. Colder'n hell and heavy seas. My boiler room (normally 100-110 deg) was in the 30's with both boilers online. It was an "experience". I have zero desire to do it again.
