Alright, electrical is one thing that makes me nervous. Can anyone confirm my approach for my Garmin Mini 2 dashcam install?

below pictures are of the wiring harness for the parking monitor function, and the diagram for the factory installed aux wiring.

To avoid going to the fuse box, can I connect the two battery wires and the acc wire (dashcam) and ignition wire (aux wires) without fear of a catastrophic problem? Thanks in advance for your input!

Just connect:

BATT (Yellow on dashcam) to Battery (Red/White on Jeep)
ACC (Red on dashcam) to Ignition (Pink/Orange on Jeep)

And ground it out to a grounding post or bolt.

That was the idea I was going for. Thanks for the confirmation!

Hey Badger could you show how you routed the wires? I've got that dashcam too in the drawer and I'm kinda putting off the installation because of the wiring.

For sure. I’m planning to install tonight. I’ll take some photos.

Thanks so much man that'd be awesome. That cam is great I had no issues using it for like 2 years and kept it when I sold my last car.

Timely thread. I have the hardwire kit, and it's finally getting warm enough that I'm thinking about installing it. My plan is the same as yours, OP.

As promised. Don’t judge the condition of my garage. It’s organized, you just can’t tell.

This is the best route I found. It gets tight in spots, just pull back on the panels a bit and itll go. I don’t believe there is any visible wire if you do it this way.

There was a nice spot to attach the ground wire when you pull back the carpet near the aux switches. enjoy!

Tuck the rest behind the carpet and you're golden
