Dead battery

Hello all,

I’ve had my ‘23 Gladiator Sport for a couple months now. On two occasions I’ve gone to start it and the battery has been completely dead. After jumping it, it runs fine with no codes. Then yesterday I went out to make sure my windows were up before it rained and as I approached the truck, without the key in my pocket, I noticed the dash and gear shift lit up. I stood and watched for a few minutes and the dash and gear shift lights blinked on and off several times with about a 30 sencond frequency. I’m guessing that this is what is draining my battery. Has anyone else had this happen?

Have you taken it to a dealer yet to check out or get a free battery replacement?

I would suggest taking it in for a warranty claim.

There is a few threads around here of battery drain and random lights staying on in the dash and console. Bad grounds causing modules to cycling back on and never going to sleep and also bad instrument clusters have caused this issue.

There is no one magic bullet fix for this issue.

The manufacturing quality of car batteries seems to have really gone into the dumpster over the past few years, especially those provided by OEMs.

The bad ones can go bad very quickly - not saying that it’s your issue but the aux battery in my JT also died in the first couple of months. Luckily the replacement seems a bit better.

I’ve not had mine all the way in park got in a hurry . Next morning flashing light, weak battery
