Maybe try the ole double-wrench technique?

You wont regret getting an impact, it has come in handy on several Jeep projects and I use it to remove the lugs, should I need to switch to the spare. I have the Dewalt DCF891.

None of the above (impact, breaker bar, long socket, WD 40) worked for me. I just placed a washer on the stud and bolted it on with a new nut. Forgot the nut thread size but go to Harbor Freight and buy a metric nut and bolt assortment. The right size is in there.
Thanks to advice from other seasoned members.

I used Blaster Spray directly on the screw and nut, give time to penetrate the use a 3/8” or 1/2” mini impact wrench with an extension. That worked easy piezey.

I keep a 1.25 inch metal tube about a foot long in my tool box.
One end is hammered oval shape to fit over the larger wrenches.
Also works great for the lug wrench or cross-wrench.
Where access is limited, I slide the tube down shorter.
At 76, I am weak as a kitten and need every advantage I can get.
But this gives me a comfortable handle and the leverage I need
for most jobs.
In the tractor shed I have a two inch tube over three feet long
for the big stuff.

For others considering a dead pedal,
the M.O.R.E. Dead Pedal does not use that nut.
It is mounted on the side above the carpet
and floor mats
but you have to be an agile contortionist.

bonus is you don't feel every brake pedal activation while resting your foot on the dead pedal. That drove me nuts.

Also, I could've sworn my firewall nut was a 14mm.

FWIT... Go to the hardware store, get a wing nut - if forget the metric size and pitch and just install your pedal over the OEM nut .. Plenty of threads to do this.. I know.. I have run this way for 3 years.
Thanks everyone for their feedback, ended up going this route. Works perfect and there was plenty of thread. The pedal makes such a difference.

I just installed this dead pedal over the weekend. I chose this particular model because it uses 3 mounting points for extra strength/rigidity. Also the pedal is super thick with rubber strips on the pedal. Unfortunately the manufacturer needs to revise the bracket because the top hole didn't line up on my 2023 Mojave. It was off by about 1/2 the diameter of the bolt. I had to enlarge 2 of the holes to make it fit. Once I did that I was able to install it. I didn't have any issues with getting the 3 factory nuts off with a ratchet. The kit includes a standoff for the top hole to bring it out for the bracket.

Posting for others who may look at this later in time, just install it over factory, use a M8 wing and you’re all set. And luckily, it fit just before the weather tech emblem.
