Update. Dealer sales manager contacted me today. Says someone on their end dropped the ball, they have had batteries for a week and no one contacted me. Asked how soon I could get it in, agreed on 9 am tomorrow. Even offered me a loaner if I had something to do while they replaced. Sounded sincere in wanting to fix situation.

Make sure you get clarity from them on how long the warranty is for that replacement battery. Since this one is likely being replaced under the warranty already, typically the "warranty clock" doesn't reset. If they tell you it has a 3 year warranty on it (as if you had just purchased it across the Parts Counter) then tell them you want some piece of paperwork stating such. Otherwise, in 2 years when you go back for a bad battery (and by then all the service people will be different and won't remember this evolution) they will tell you that that battery WAS a warranty replacement and was only covered for the length of the original warranty.

I know this because...as my favorite saying goes..."Good Decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions"

No need to fuss with it - it will be covered by the battery warranty OR the remainder of the truck warranty, whichever is more advantageous for the vehicle owner. That's the way of any such MOPAR part.

If it's a full 3 year replacement on the battery and he's got 1 year on the truck, then that battery is covered for 3 years. It's really that simple. Save the invoice and that's all he needs to do, nothing more.
Batteries are "replacement parts" and there's no "well, it was a warranty replacement and now the warranty is up" to it at all, ever.
It's either the battery warranty, or the remainder of the truck warranty, whichever is longer. That's that.
And frankly, he can take it to any dealership later and the results would be the same -

I don't disagree, but I am a realist (an optimist with prior experience) and what you've called out should happen with a dealership that is honest, etc. We've already discussed in this thread dealerships that aren't necessarily trustworthy and I wouldn't leave it to chance. It costs nothing to have the service desk print something out.

they could write it on on the invoice. Too often those invoices are so very inaccurate. Even the dealer shop I'd trust doesn't give a good description of work actually done.
They'll write "checked xxxxx" when they actually replaced parts and did some detailed work. Checked? Really?
Can't hurt then you have the invoice, dated, names and so on.
