Getting my first oil change, looking at a Gladiator the dealership customized. They lifted it and put beadlocks on but they have the factory running boards on it that the manual says you need to take off when 4 wheeling

Dealers always do horrid mods...usually cheap Chinese garbage with lots of lights and anything that makes noise visually. And they sell them at a premium.

I'll fix up my own truck from scratch. Function over form, and utilitarian by nature.

The dealer in Ankeny does a great job with mods and lifts. I've looked at their accessories room and talked with their accessories guy - they use the same sort of stuff often talked about in these forums, either MOPAR parts/lifts or some of the other name brand stuff.
If I had waited to buy, they have some JTs there beautifully modified sitting on the lot.
They don't to the Rubicons - they let the buyers choose how they want those, but they have Sport and Overland models there nicely done.
