the new system form Jeep is they tie it to your VIN and yes Jeep has a system for this as well as even noting a lift on the jeep, as long as a jeep dealer installs the lift they will cover it under warranty and list it on the vin,.. this is good for insurance claims too i would guess. We have a average jeep dealer here and they do this all the time, the service manager is a good guy and we have built a good relationship. he showed me the Jeep guidelines in his manual to prove to me that Jeep has made accommodations for modifying tire size and lifts,.. Iim waiting for the AEV gladiator lift dealer will install and then it will be under factory warranty even..

So... I’m sitting at the dealership right now. I asked the service rep to please flash my Speedo to match tire size. He says “We can’t do that anymore. There used to be a code for us to do it but it doesn’t exist anymore. You’ll have to get a device and do it yourself.”

Seriously? Uh... ok. I ask him “How many of your Jeep owners keep stock size tires?” ?

Outside of a Tazer Mini, what other devices exist to do this?
Just use the Jscan App. Cost less than $100, can do everything you need to do, and you don't have to leave anything plugged in therefore having to remove it when you go to the dealer. And.... provided you buy the license to another Mopar vehicle, you can use the same app on the other Mopar vehicle. I've been using it for over a year and a half now.

It's just a cash grab. They can do it in about 5 minutes but the policy for any business is don't do free work.

My issue back in 2018 was that I had purchased a used wrangler with stock size tires and a speedo off by 10% in the wrong way, so my mileage was adding up quicker than I was actually using the vehicle. I brought this to their attention and they still wouldn't fix it.

You are going to have to buy something and change it yourself or find a local buddy willing to lend you theirs temporarily. Put something in the classifieds.

This can be used on an unlimited number of Jeep and mopar vehicles. You buy it once, can install it on any phone or tablet you own (I love it on a tablet, easy to read and use) and you can use it on any Jeep or MOPAR vehicle you own, even your Ram truck. No restrictions on VIN, etc. - free updates for life.
It can generate diagnostics reports as well.

Although you can use a 25 dollar bluetooth interface, there's a lot that even jscan can't do with the cheaper interfaces so I recommend springing for the OBDLinkMX+ up front. It's a lot more expensive but I started with the cheaper interface and found things jscan could not access - and ended up buying the better interface anyway so I felt I had wasted the original 25 bucks.

Decide what you want to do, goals, is it simply to program tire sizes - and one time, or will you find useful for other things? If to do tire sizes and that's all you care about, then save your money, find a buddy. But if you want to look up error codes, do any other mods later, do all you can afford to buy and do it once.

Huffines in Lewisville in Dec said $200 and they'd do it.

Several, and multiple pieces of software - at least 2, perhaps 3, I've not looked hard at one of the other softwares I ran into last year that says it can do certain things. But for sure two pieces of software, 3 or 4 maybe more pieces of hardware that don't require a phone or tablet to interface and do it like the software does.

Here's what my accessories guy told me when I asked him a while back - yes, they can and will do it, but the cost is close to the piece of hardware they'll sell you and then as he said, then you can do it as many times as you wish and not come back and get charged again.
I did not ask which specific "device" they sold, but my dealer will either do it, or for almost the same price, sell you a device so you can it it again later.

Basically, pay 100-150 each time, or pay it once and be able to do it every day if you wish.

As far as how many Jeep owners keep stock tires, it's like anything else. On a forum, almost no one. But in the real world, a whole hell of a lot more than the make it look like a Mack truck on steroids with 50" tires and wheels bulging out 6" from the sides with bullet proof armor all around people would ever admit to because it's a slap in the face, how dare they buy a JEep and not spend 50 grand on tires and wheels and 18" lifts! Blasphemy!
LOL - seriously, the Jeep is what we call the official vehicle of West Des Moines and I'd guess that 3/4 are on stock tires with relative few to no mods, or of there are mods, it's a baby seat in the back. If it wasn't for them, Jeep would be dead.

JSCAN has a blurb on their site about it. Something about the non + version not having access to some certain area. I know there were things JSCAN could not "see" with the first adapter I bought and when I bought the MX+ it could "see" or access more but I didn't keep track. The jscan web site likely says.
My wife always chews me out for trying to save a buck and buying cheap and then having to buy again so I'm not even going to mention I bought the cheap one first and then later bought the better adapter.

ah, thanks. I of course found the list of stuff it can do right after I typed that. Looks like I may need to update my old MX.
