Deepseek AI chooses Quite Off-Road Tire for JT Rubicon

Deleted member 57233

AI is just scraping the web for answers, there's totally nothing intelligent about it.
That's not how deepseek works. It's the world's first AI that uses a pure reinforcement learning model instead of large language model (Web scraping) like OpenAI and all the stuff built into our devices. It's a pretty big breakthrough and it's already better than OpenAI even though it's still in the early stages.

I've had KO2s on a wrangler and a cherokee for the last 12 years driving in South Dakota winters. They have been fantastic in the mix of snow and ice we have on our roads and trails.
Have you tried any of the modern ATs or do you just run what you know and assume that better tires aren't readily available?

They got it done cheap and fast too. China doing what China does!

I had KO2s on my jk and loved them for snow and dry dirt and rocky trails. My experience with other tires is limited. I tend to avoid mud though too, so to each their own when it comes to tire preference/offroad preference.

They are super quiet on the highway compared to the KMs that were equipped when I bought the jeep. I'd buy them again.

But I also have my eye on the MT baja boss ATs mentioned above bc they make them as 255/85r17 pizza cutters 🍕

I've never seen AI on a tough trail and their tire choices prove that. The KO2 is literally the worst performing off road tire I've ever run. Might as well be a slick at the 1st sign of mud. Even it's on road performance is mediocre at best. Barely better off road than any standard LT tire and worse in the rain and snow than any other AT I've ever run. If you want off road performance you need at least an RT in my opinion, but if you're going to compromise for an AT at least pick a good one like the mickey Thompson baja boss AT or the Yokohama x-AT.
Odd, the KO2 has been my go-to tire for years; I've run at least three sets of them that I can remember, but then again, my environment is the high desert. It's what that tire was built to do, softer mud tires chunk out and fall apart way too quickly in the harsh desert landscape.

I use the Wildpeak RT's and I'm assuming their not listed because they're newer and there's not enough available data to put them in the curve.

As for DeepSeek, I would say the jury's not out on that platform. The Stock Market had a pretty huge kneejerk reaction but I'm staying put for now while the dust settles on the DeepSeek introduction and we find out more about it. I do have concerns about their data storage being held in China(CCP). Read the DeepSeek Privacy Policy. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it has malware written in that collects data from all the apps on our phones like TikTok does.

F@CK AI, Nothing like real world testing. I've ran the Rubicon take off tires since 7k miles. Got 62k on them now. Yeah they got a little louder. But damn those things are bulletproof in the snow IMO. Almost time to put the second pair on.
Falken AT3 FTW.

I was very happy with the Falken, I upgraded to 35"s and gave my takeoffs to a family member to replace their dry rotted KO2s that were about a decade old.

It's hilarious how scared everyone is of China stealing their data as if the Chinese want pics of your grandkids or your bowling scores.

Sure are a lot of Dakar Rally vehicles using the BFG's.

Just for fun I used one of the tools (in this case GPT-4o)I have at work and asked the same question to see the difference. You all can decide which answer is best.

Choosing an off-road tire that offers a balance between off-road capability and on-road quietness for a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon can be challenging, but several options stand out for their performance in both areas. Here are some of the best off-road tires that are also known for being relatively quiet on the highway:

  1. BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2: This tire is renowned for its durability and off-road performance while maintaining a relatively quiet and comfortable ride on paved roads. The KO2 is a versatile tire that handles various terrains well.
  2. Falken Wildpeak A/T3W: The Wildpeak A/T3W is highly regarded for its excellent all-terrain performance and durability. It also provides a smooth and quiet ride on highways, making it a great all-around option.
  3. Nitto Terra Grappler G2: This tire offers a good balance between off-road capability and on-road comfort. The Terra Grappler G2 is designed to provide a quiet ride on highways while still being capable of handling tough off-road conditions.
  4. Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar: This tire features Kevlar reinforcement for added durability and toughness. It performs well off-road and provides a quiet and comfortable ride on paved roads.
  5. Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015: The Geolandar A/T G015 is known for its excellent all-terrain performance and quiet highway manners. It offers good traction in various conditions while maintaining a smooth and quiet ride.
  6. Toyo Open Country A/T III: This tire provides a great balance of off-road performance and on-road comfort. It is designed to be quiet and smooth on highways while still offering reliable traction on rough terrains.
These tires are known for their ability to handle off-road conditions while providing a quieter and more comfortable ride on highways. It is always a good idea to read reviews and consult with a tire professional to find the best option for your specific needs and driving habits.

👍
A little bit different order.
I would be curious to see if the exact verbiage would get the same answer from both systems.

On another DeepSeek note: It's been tested and shown that DeepSeek has malware written into the code which stores the user's login information on servers in China. No, thank you.
