Lots of street driving as its my DD but its build to go off-road. I will go with Trail Grapplers as they are not to bad but would like quieter tire if possible.

Interesting tire, wish they would have full specs on their website.

BFG makes a KO2 maybe the KO3 in 39x12.50 by 17. Long lasting tire and very quiet.

BFG is also building 40 and 42 inch tires in a 17 inch rim size.

Not looking to pick on you but this is an endemic problem on this board. "Generic" questions get launched and lots of replies and recommendations are given base on super limited actual information, which quite frankly makes the exchange almost useless without context.

Saying "built to go off-road" is like saying built to go for a hike. So what kind of off-roading and where? The needs of a person looking to traverse muddy backwoods mountain roads in North Carolina and very different from my needs to run rocky washboard desert roads as fast as I comfortably can. The tire needs are not even close!

You can try to tackle all combinations with a great A/T tire which will be the quietest option for a DD, but if your intent is to REALLY crawl your way through ACTUAL tough trails (even occasionally) at Moab or drive through 3 ft of swampy mud in a forest when you do go off-road then your chances of finding a true quiet DD tire are at best slim and you'll probably have to suck it up with the noise OR risk utter failure when off-road.

Just a thought...

Now this is strictly based on your Jeep pic in your avatar. It seems like you are a desert rat like me :)

If so I have been running Wildpeak A/T all over Arizona, Utah and Nevada with excellent results. They are also VERY well behaved and quiet on the road/highway and excellent in rain and snow so they take me from Arizona washboards to Nevada rock ledges to skiing in Utah with excellent capabilities on all terrains. So there is my recommendation for what it's worth.

40" is quite a tire, fortunately how quiet a tire is depends more on the tread than the size.

I live in Nevada so mud isn't a issue besides I try hard to never get near it. Desert yep the Vegas to Reno race go's through my valley. Trails light crawling like Sourgrass trail. I'd done Rubicon etc many times in other Jeeps but won't take this one on that level of trail. Snow yep we get snow and I do go on the Cal 4x4 snow run and take the extreme trails they run. Wildpeak A/T they are not made in 38's but thanks.

Maybe the answer like what was suggested is get a second set of street tires and rims.
