Delivery Dilemma

This has been discussed ad nauseum. The truth is that Rubicons do not have a higher resale value. They are more expensive to begin with and the actual percentage of value is higher for the lower models. I know people will argue this but that is the pure numbers.
I am the oddball that has a Rubicon but I go to the Max Tow as my go to recommendation. Here is where we go astray. If you want options that are not available on the Sport then go for the Overland or Rubicon. You have found a Rubicon for the same money but remember it is a year old already so not apples to oranges really. And also remember that if you don't need the lockers and sway bar disconnect then do you want to fix them when they break?
I can appreciate that this would be a hard decision and I don't envy you. I ordered mine and got it just the way I wanted it and I really like that.
And yes, you can add almost anything including LED lighting down the road. And I have seen lots of Rubicon fenders on the used market. Probably will be even more as more aftermarket options become available.

That's a solid argument. My first Jeep was an 07 JKU Sahara. I would be lying if I said I didn't want the Rubicon however the reality of it is that it would be a waste in my driveway. I did order this sport S the way I wanted it but I cant tell you how many times I tried similar builds on the configurator just too see if it was feasible for no other reason other then "want".

In the end, I am happy to accept delivery next week with what I ordered. But I will at least take a look at it if its still on the lot. I just need to keep telling myself that Tan seats are terrible with kids.

We live in a time of Instagram, when people will buy a $60,000 Jeep, spend another $10,000 in mods, so that they can project an adventurous image online.

People who really know Jeeps can see past the stereotypes and the hood stickers.

Yeah, the so-called "influencers" I hate constantly reading about instacrap influencers in the news. Put people up on pedestals and so many use that as their source of income instead of working. Rotting brains.
It's sad when people rely so much on that for influence!

One of the reasons I went Rubicon was that I was coming from a Power Wagon with lockers and sway bar disconnect. The other is I wanted the 8.4 and prox entry. And I dig the hood. But you can get the 8.4 on the Sport now and the prox entry can be added. That said, I may have gone Max Tow if I were doing it now. I would add Ox lockers and be good to go. But there is still the draw of the Rubicon, not gonna lie.
