Does anyone have a Yakima Outpost HD system mounted on their Diamondback Cover? I have been trying to find a more modular system that will allow me to overland/race weekend with a RTT and accessories, and when not in use; quick detachable and removable (leave in garage) which will maintain a nice clean look for daily driving.

Note : I have not thoroughly reviewed looking at a Thule design to date, so if that works similar to Yakima please provide the information and some pics. I have reviewed: Voodoo Max, FrontRunner, Rhino and they all have the same problem; I want a tonneau with accessibility. DiamondBack provides front/rear access and a weight rating /fixture to attach a modular system.

Here is where I am landing for a setup:

• Diamondback HD Cover [$2049]
• DiamonBack Side Boxes [$199]
• Yakima Outpost HD System [$750]
â—‹ 500lb on / 300lb off
â—‹ 60" Cross Bars
â—‹ SideBar - ShortBed [$219]
â—‹ 36"-64"
From what I can see, no flat mount exists so would need to replace the pads that come wit the HD system to work with a t-rails system (similar to Retrax or the other certified models). From what I can see the Front-Runner slats appear to be a match and that is what would be bolted to the Diamondback and should allow Yakima posts to slide for any use case or accessory.
• Tonneau Kit [$110]
• Front Runner Slat ADD-ON Kit [~$60] (1 3/4in and 3.5")
â—‹ End Caps [$10]

So for racing and overlanding I levareage the side bars; rotopax, trax mounts, etc... and although with the RTT mounted the Diamonback is only accessible from the tailgate this is a rare occurrence versus a permanent mid-height rack. For daily use, the rack would be fully removed, just leaving the tracking on the Diamondback and a nice clean look for the truck.

The only other option I see is to have a permanent mid-height rack with a retractable cover (Nuthouse Industries is where I am leaning), but you are easily in 5k before any accessories, RTT, etc ..... In the Yakima, I can spend the money on more of the needed items (lighting, dual battery, refrig, etc...)
