Your numbers you posted checkout as good, like many who have installed the DB cover I, opted just too remove the bed rails without regard for trying to save them. If you have the time and patience definetly do the removal process mentioned above, I saw too much potential for scratching up the top of the rail platform.
So, I opted to just rip them off took about 2 minutes a side that was taking my time.

Then, prep your areas for the shims, install the new rails with shims .

Your choice, lots of good info here can't go wrong either way.

I picked up the DiamondBack SE used from a very nice Gentlemen with a red Mojave. He switched to an ARE canopy. He ordered the DB with the Front Runner system and also had a set of the Yakima rails, along with FR snowboard mounts. He still had the install instructions and the shims that he didn't use. I need to pull my caps and install the shims still.

I think I'll probably install the Yakima rails in place of the Front Runner rails, since the Yak ones look beefier.
Questions, I'd like a taller set of legs so I can load a kayak on the rack without it hanging so far out back. Does anybody know of a set of legs that will work with the FR crossbars?

I just received and installed my DB Switchback yesterday. Love the look and ruggedness of the cover. I have Amazon / Chinese rails that are supposed to be like the MOPAR rails installed. I have some difficulty latching the two tailgate levers into the rails. Anyone else have this problem with rails and a Switchback?

Looks nice, not the SE or HD. Just a few weeks ago I was on DB's web page and that cover the switchback, was not available for the Gladiator. Looks solid.

Have I mentioned I love the security of the DiamondBack covers.
Jeep Gladiator DiamondBack Covers | General Thread 20240906_143044

Loaded up some tools for tomorrow. No need to worry about them tonight when we go out to eat, they will be safely locked up under the cover.

Nice, my first DiamondBack was very secure but my newest one has the newer style locks very nice.

My first one was great, but this one is much nicer in every way.
Well except maybe the fact it's an SE vs the DB ATV-S that I had on the Ram 2500.
But beggers can't be choosers. I'll take the smoking deal I got on the SE with all the extras over paying full price for a new HD version. I'll probably never need the difference between the SE and HD anyways.

Kind of odd. Just looking at the Diamondback website, and they have removed the SE version from the Gladiator. It shows as Unavailable. Wonder why? They still offer the HD.

EDIT: Oops, must be a mistake. This reply from Diamondback "
"Not sure why you are seeing that for the SE, we 100% do make that cover for the Gladiator.
I'd recommend trying on a different browser and perhaps clearing your web cache."

The same had happened to me when browsing a month or so ago.
SE was not available. I was on my phone (android) and I, used my Firefox browser on a windows 11 laptop.

The SE is definetly the one too use on the Gladiator, HD is over kill plus where the structural support on the bottom of the cover are located hinder standing items up in the bed on some instances.

Wish Diamondback would make the center section height adjustable just around 1/4-5/16
of an inch would help the front and rear panels lay better. I see so many installs where the panels are not flush makes the Diamondback covers look goofy.

I don't think the HD is overkill. I'd much rather have the extra support beams underneath. I do see/somewhat agree on the beams having interference with clearance on certain things. But still overall no complaints with the HD.

OK, I'm sold. Will order a smooth SE soon. Does Diamondback ever have Black Friday sales? Would hate to order and then have it drop in price a week later.
