I contacted Front Runner Racks and explained what I wanted to accomplish and they put together a parts list for me. Here is what I ended up with:

(1) Roof Load Bar Pair 1425mm(W) - by Front Runner
SKU: LBSK016 $140.00

(1) Universal Track / 1400mm(L) - by Front Runner
SKU: TRAC002 $122.00

(2) Pickup Roll Top Leg Mount - by Front Runner
SKU: LASS028 $157.90
Not cheap but looking a lot better than other options out there. Did it come with all the harware you needed?

That's exactly right. I also copied the Tacoma from the youtube video. It's really no big deal to drill the holes. The Front Runner tracks come with a rubber base and I also squeezed some silicone sealant into the holes before I added the screws/washers/nusts. I have had ZERO leaks. The improvement in versatility and utility are well worth the hassle of drilling.

I like the idea of adding a piece of track to the center section to allow a load bar to be mounted there and the front to be opened even with a load across both bars.

Can you do me a favor? Measure the distance from the inside of the tailgate to the hinge (for the rear panel).

I sometimes put a 100 gallon fuel tank in the bed, and I want to make sure it will still fit if the rear panel is folded front. I need 26"

So both the front and rear panels overlap the center section (I assume for waterproofing). The distance from the rearward edge of the center section to the forward edge of the tailgate is 24".

Booo! Doesn't change my plans to get one though. I'll figure out a way to make it work.

Thanks!

Looks like DiamondBack has now officially partnered with Front Runner for this same setup:

I saw that yesteday and it got me really interested. I am hoping they get an install partner or something now with this. I just don't feel comfortable drilling into this cover..

Well that would have been nice about a month or so ago.

I have all the parts, just need to cut the rails and mount them to the cover. I bought a outlet cover from diamondback that had a previous system on it, but wasn't a frontrunner because the holes don't line up. Bummer.

I have the new smooth Diamondback HD cover and I love it. This is my second one. The previous one was on my Raptor. They are outstanding quality. I use the HD ones because the metal is thicker and add very little weight to the vehicle. It also makes a great platform to walk on for doing photography and whatnot, and to mount my HAM radio antennas. Not to mention they just look sharp. I like that I can remove just one panel if I want and not have to remove the whole thing for some stuff. Plus they lock down with side bolts like the door on your safe. You twist the knob and the locking bolts extend out at the corners. You would have to spend some time with a crowbar to try and pry this up. Very safe.

17.5" from bottom of diamondback to the top of my bed ripple (but I also have a spray in liner and a bed mat)
