***Yes, I know its an individual choice if you want/need a warranty. ***Yes, I know everyone's experience is different. I am posting this thread for general information and some friendly conversation with fellow Gladiator owners as well as seeking some useful knowledge on the subject.... so...(Before you say "That's why these "what are you paying for XXXX?" threads are kind of pointless and I don't understand why people post these questions") DON'T
I'm getting ready to pick my vehicle up next week.. Every time I've purchased a vehicle , I've received a full court press in the finance office to purchase an extended warranty. On the plus side(if true), my dealership is (Gupton) and I have heard they do not try to up sale you and the buying process is really quick and smooth.
So I have some questions: (If you purchased or will be purchasing an extended warranty)
Do we need one for the Gladiator ? Is the OEM warranty good enough ?
How does an extended warranty differ from the OEM ?
How was your experience at the dealership ? Did they make you sweat and pressure you ?
What type of warranty were you offered ? Did they give you several options ?
What company or companies were carrying the warranty(s) they offered ?
How much did you pay ?
What were the terms ?
What's the best way/technique to use to get the best price ?
Should you purchase it out of pocket or build it into the financing ?
Would buying directly from FCA(Jeep) be the best choice ?
What about:
If you passed on the extended warranty at the dealership and you wait close to the time the original warranty expires and then purchase one. I know on the last couple vehicles, I got bombarded with phone calls wanting to sell me an extended warranty . When I checked with the actual car manufacture, I was able to purchase one relatively cheap (cheaper than what was originally offered when I made the purchase) and cheaper than what was offered on the many phone calls.
These are just some quick thoughts/questions, hopefully you guys/gals can fill in the blanks !
